Beautiful guest house, very well furnished and decorated. Staff were helpful, friendly and full of good advice without being in any way intrusive. Rooms are very spacious with amazing bathrooms (bath in the room). The views of the city and mountain were amazing. And there's a good little deli/restaurant just round the corner. Two lovely dogs completed the laid-back, relaxed... more

Rutland Lodge is a beautiful colonial building constructed in 1904 with lots of original features. Situated in a residential district at the back of Cape Town, the interior is immaculate. Decor is traditional African themed. On arrivial we were greeted with tea and cake. Rooms are well proportioned and furniture is very high quality. Lovely comfortable double bed with percale... more

Loved this place! Rutland Lodge provided peaceful accommodation just a few minutes cab ride from all the action. The upstairs suite had a wonderful view across town and out to the Bay. Derrick and Jean Jo made Erica and I feel most welcome. Their informal advice and intimate knowledge of the local area was helpful. Breakfast was a treat with... more

There are not words to say what the Rutland Lodge is. Beautiful, incredible, marvelous and the rest of synonymous in the dictionary. We spent just one week, but it will be the place to return in Cape Town. Cape Town looks better if you can stay it. Delicious morning breakfast to start to visit Western Cape; better swing pool for... more

Boutique and stylish, this gem of a guesthouse is ideally positioned to get the best of both views - that of Table Mountain and also over the city looking out over the coast. We only stayed one night as it was our last night in Cape Town and wanted it to be somewhere special, which it certainly was. The bed... more

It is already a year ago that we visited but I always wanted to leave a review about this place. Both for work and pleasure have seen a lot of places in the last few years but hardly anything as good as this place. Super friendly, fantastic breakfast and really nice rooms. The lodge is almost a museum full of... more
