BNice, quite place to stay. Close to a busstation which brings you everywhere in the city. Around the corner there is a nice coffeeshop with delicious food and a Sparsupermarket as well wehere you can buy fresh yoghurt with fresh cut fruit, pastries and all that kind of thing: very handy! 5 minutes walking of a park to chill down... Follow my advice: NEVER GO to this place. Why? The hotel is an old depressing house. Do you want to go on your holidays to such places? I guess not. If you stay in a dorm, you have to cross the open area to get to the toilets; you might as well get a cold on your way -needless to... More

The Zebra Crossing is well located - a walking distance from the Long Street, the Company's Garden, supermarkets and bars, and well connected to transportation. Staff was very helpful - they helped us hire a very cheap car rental - and there was cheap breakfast and beer at the bar. Rooms were simple - we tried both the private room... More

This hostel was clean and the staff was helpful but that's about it. I stayed there in July and it was FREEZING. There is minimal heat in most of South Africa but the lack of heat was unbearable. I had a private room, which was nice with a shared bathroom.

This was the worst hostel I stayed at in South Africa and one of the worst in 3 months in Southern Africa. The dorm rooms are dark and dingy and the toilets smell of stale urine. The common areas are OK, but only OK. However, the main issue is the atmosphere, or lack of. I wasn't looking for a party... More

Staff are friendly and helpful with information on what to see and how to get around. Good, safe location. Rooms near the street can be loud, though, as New Church St is a bit like the Indy 500. There was a problem with the hot water twice when I was there. I also could have used an overhead light in... More

Enjoyed the stay at Zebra Crossing, while it is a little further away than the other hostels on Long Street, it more than makes up with spacious rooms and less noise than the other Long St hostels. Nice shared space and staff were very friendly and happy to help booking tours etc.

Very welcoming staff. They are gone from 8 pm but they leave you notes of what to do. Provide good tips and the location is great. Breakfast can be bought separate for a reasonable price. If you need to rent a car or get any insiders tips they are the once you need. Katrin did a great job

I liked everything about it. I was made welcome by Katrin as soon as I arrived and she really went out to try and fit me in when it was really busy and pretty much booked up.There is a great little cafe there run by a smashing lady called Bronwyn and she does a good cooked breakfast plus there are...
