Generally, I'd say this as an excellent and charming little hotel. Great location - a short drive from Long Street, great service (though this seems to come as standard in South Africa), great breakfasts (the only meal we had here). The hotel is split in two halves, the new and old. The old rooms (in the main house), really are... more

While I can't write anything that hasn't already been written, I'd like to add another +1 to the positive reviews the Dunkley House has already received. It's probably one of the most amazing hotels I've ever stayed in... the staff is *incredible*, the breakfast is insanely delicious and keeps you satisfied all day, and the rooms are spacious, beautiful, and... more

I love Dunkley House and go back there everytime we are in Cape Town. Rooms are stylishly decorated and breakfasts are delicious. The staff make you feel really relaxed and very welcome. The area is safe and close to cinemas, shops, bars, restaurants, museums, Table Mountain and the swimming pool. Despite being in the City Bowl, it iasy to get... more

My husband and I were traveling for 6 months and the Dunkley house was the best place we stayed on the entire trip. The staff are wonderful! We felt like we had made life long friends when we left and we were sad to leave. It is super clean and the breakfasts are wonderful. We spent a total of 7... more

This is our second stay at the Dunkley House and I can't say enough good things about it! The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms amazing (this time we stayed in the newer wing, in Bay 4). We even had a private patio! The property is amazingly clean, the pool very refreshing after a long day of sightseeing and... more

We stayed at the Dunkley House for four nights while we were on our honeymoon and the property was exactly what we were looking for. Upon arrival and during our entire stay the staff was excellent! Booking restaurants, laundry, recommendations, you name it, they did for us. They were always willing to lend a helping hand. It was like having... more

Having stayed at both African Villas and Dunkley House on the same holiday I would say that although they are both excellent, DH tips it! The staff here were all extremely helpful and the rooms relaxing and tranquil. Just as we left they were about to open even more luxurious rooms which means more opportunity for everyone to stay. Also... more
