The room was very damp and the walls had water marks. No hot water in the bathroom. We will never use Dunkley House for our corporate accommodation. It will not take a lot to redo the walls around this room and to replace the shower door and give the shower grout a good scrub. The carpets also need to be... More

Having stayed at Dunkley 5 weeks earlier we decided to return as we knew the accommodation was very comfortable, the staff most competent and eager to please, and the location convenient and central. And of course the breakfasts are first class. We would certainly recommend this establishment.

We booked room 5 but had to change after one night to another room due to the noise. I was very pleased that they agreed to pick the tab for that. The pancakes served for breakfast were v delicious. Staff were all very friendly and professional! The rooms have king size beds, they are spacious and fairly private so no... More

My girlfriend and myself stayed in Dunkley House for a week. Close to the city centre and as a save neighbourhood this was a great place to go for daily activities. More noteworthy is the house itself and its staff. The rooms are great with king size bed, some have a patio and a fantastic bathroom. The included breakfast is... More

We stayed at Dunkley House for four nights on our recent trip to Cape Town. The location was very central and in easy walking distance to museums, shops, restaurants, and other attractions. Also, while being centrally located with good access, the hotel itself was tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood, making it very safe and peaceful at night. The innkeepers... More

Enjoyed our return to this delightful boutique hotel, especially when Eunice remembered us from 7 years earlier. The only downside was it was too cool to enjoy the lovely pool outside our room (but then it was nearly winter). The cooked breakfast options were chef standard each day. delightful. One criticism would be a better stocked bar fridge, as per... More

We have stayed here many times over the past nine years, both on our own and with various overseas visitors. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished, the area is generally quiet, the location is excellent, being within two or three minutes walking distance of Maria’s Greek cafe, and the Aubergine, one of the best restaurants in Cape Town. Breakfasts... More

We have been staying at Dunkley House for more than 10 years and during our previous trip lat year noted the maintenance of the rooms had gone down. We stayed again this month after the property had changed owners only to see that the issues have still not been resolved and even have gotten worse. Eg shower head broken ,... More

this is a great hidden gem in a very attractive low key area, perfect for walking around the city, and superb small local restaurants a few steps away. The style is full-blown Boutique Hotel, but the service is friendly old school and couldn't be more helpful, and the ambiance relaxed and chilled. Also very good value for the quality.
