I stayed here for 3 nights and loved my stay. The place is 110 years old and is full of old-world charm. The place is beautifully decorated and there are wide verandas to enjoy the view. I asked for a quiet room and it was perfect, it was in the back so it didn't have a view but it was... More

We stayed at Esparanza in November this year - the accommodation was fantastic, breakfast delicious and the staff were soooo helpful. Such a great stay would HIGHLY recommend - they even stayed up late for us arriving and let you borrow a cell phone for your stay, very helpful when retrying to deal with KLM and lost luggage!

The owner is very friendly and professional. Esperanza is centrally situated in Oranjezicht, close to the city, vibrant Kloof street and has easy access to all major routes out of the city. Breakfast is excellent and I can recommend Esperanza for a comfortable "home away from home" stay in Cape Town. It is convenient that you can take a stroll... More

This is one of the nicest and friendliest guest houses in Cape Town. Our vacation started here and it was a great welcome, even our cases were carried in and upstairs - a real help after an 11 hour flight. The breakfasts are amazing and the help yourself bar in the gorgeous lounge is a treat. One point to note... More

The owner is very friendly and the guesthouse conveniently in Oranjezicht (close to town). Breakfast is good and plenty and I can recommend this place for a easy, nice stay in Cape Town... Also very nice: you can take a run around the resorvoir in the evening with Table Mountain in sight or go for a walk in the park... More

We had a very happy 4 day stay at the Esperanza in September 2012. The room was really comfortable, the breakfast very good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. A nice stroll took us to Kloof Street with all the lively bars and restaurants, and we walked to and from the Waterfront. Lovely view of Table Mountain from... More

Esperanza was a great chance to stay in a beautiful 100 year old home turned B&B. Stately, very comfortable and very clean. A view on the foot of Table Mountain and Cable-car in the back and the City and Harbour in the front. Janet`s breakfast were unbeatable, fresh, hot and there was a terrific variety!A definite must!

The position of the guesthouse is on a very busy corner and it was a bit noisy but it's pretty good value for money

On our trip to South Africa we used Cape Town as our base when travelling back and forth along the Garden route. We stayed at the Esperanza on arrival, Mark (the owner) was kind enough to stay up a little late (around 1 am) to ensure we were able to check in as our flight arrived after the stated check-in... Choose your room carefully, some rooms have showers, some don't. There is no air con, we called up to see if they had fans, to which they confirmed. When we arrived, we were given a desk fan!! The "splash pool" and sun deck is two sun loungers squeezed in next to a small splash pool which is on the pathway... More
