i was there for a long period and the stay was great. The hospitality from Mark the owner was friendly and always very helpful and Janet the lady who cleaned and did breakfast was always very friendly. Well situated place not far from Cape Town city centre as well as beaches and the waterfront. I would highly recommend this place... More

The Esperanza Guesthouse is one of the oldest houses in Cape Town, and it is nice to stay in such a house. Sitting on the covered balcony overlooking the town is really great. The downside is that the interior is also a bit old, and some items may need some 'doing up'. The manager and the staff were very friendly... More

Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city with a historic and romantic feel too. Mark, Thank you for for your kind hospitality in allowing us to stay with you at discount on such short notice and providing us with 2 different rooms to enjoy and also a secure parking spot. The staff were friendly - a special... More

I am writing this quite late after my stay but my initial review did not pass through for some reason. The Esperanza Guest House is a beautiful and quant guest house which has this old look over it. One of the lovely ladies (I do not remember which one) even showed me her skills with the thread and needle after... More

Dont get me wrong, this is a nice guest house, but I was a little disappointed. There is only space for parking 2 (small) cars, and 1 of those spaces is for the owner. Street-parking in SA is not advisable. Wifi was available, but I struggled to stay connected consistently. The room that I had was large with a beautiful... More

Although we don't live very far from Cape Town, we often overnight when we come to the city for events. Similarly, we only stayed at Esperanza Guest House for one night, but this was enough to confirm that Esperanza will become a permanent entry on our list of Cape Town places to stay. The owners have managed to retain much... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and loved my stay. The place is 110 years old and is full of old-world charm. The place is beautifully decorated and there are wide verandas to enjoy the view. I asked for a quiet room and it was perfect, it was in the back so it didn't have a view but it was... More

We stayed at Esparanza in November this year - the accommodation was fantastic, breakfast delicious and the staff were soooo helpful. Such a great stay would HIGHLY recommend - they even stayed up late for us arriving and let you borrow a cell phone for your stay, very helpful when retrying to deal with KLM and lost luggage!

The owner is very friendly and professional. Esperanza is centrally situated in Oranjezicht, close to the city, vibrant Kloof street and has easy access to all major routes out of the city. Breakfast is excellent and I can recommend Esperanza for a comfortable "home away from home" stay in Cape Town. It is convenient that you can take a stroll... More

This is one of the nicest and friendliest guest houses in Cape Town. Our vacation started here and it was a great welcome, even our cases were carried in and upstairs - a real help after an 11 hour flight. The breakfasts are amazing and the help yourself bar in the gorgeous lounge is a treat. One point to note... More
