I stayed at Mountain Manor Guest House, 17 Breda Street, Cape Town from 02/05 to 04/05/2014. I would like to recommend this guest house as it is one of the best establishments that I have stayed in for a long time. Everything was perfect, comfortable and spotless and the breakfast was superb. It is situated in Gardens, central Cape Town,... More

I travel a lot and stay in many places and most are of exceptional quality. I rarely write bad reviews, and I would rather let things sort themselves out. However, I was the guest of an international group who had booked me into this establishment and I feel that they did not get their money's worth for this guest house... More

Dear Roger Thank you for your recommendations and I am sorry that we did not get to meet. Unfortunately when there is a 'manager' in charge and a full time maintenance man - I would expect immediate attention to all problems but it seems that this has not happened. This manager has left us and I have no idea which... More

We stayed in a self catering "Suite", which was spacious, clean, comfortable, with all necessary kitchen utensils. The place is well located, at walking distance from Long street. As a plus would be free wi-fi (there is but you need to pay), given the price of the rooms...

I lead an expedition to namibia and South Africa. We ended a month long trip here. Its a good welcoming place, the kitchen and bathrooms are clean and has plenty of hot water. Its in a good position not far from the Gardens Mall and the Gardens. Getting a taxi to the waterfront is about 80 Rand. Jason is helpful and... More

What a welcoming experience when i arrived, I loved the fire place and glass of sherry. It was such a cold day and went down very well. Since all the renovations the place looks amazing especially the breakfast room and patio area. I will definatley visit in the summer the pool and braai area looks like fun.

This hotel is located in a safe and nice area of cape town, the gardens. Only 3 min. walk to the gsrden shopping center, and 15 min. walk to the green market square. Rigth near the guest house there is a cheaper, backpacker, dormitorium style, accomodation , managed by the same owners. Much safer to stay in this area than... More

I arrived at Mountain Manor for check in. The receptionist was clearly a temp staff member and while she was friendly clearly had little enthusiasm for the place. My room had a well-worn carpet with stains in it that had not washed out particularly well. Of the two fans, only one worked. One of the bedside lamps also did not... More

Dear disgruntled guest - thank you for your review - I do not know who you are but I can guess - and presume that you were in Room 9. I have been and checked the fans in the room - you are quite correct - the one air fan is stuck - Thank you for advising us so that... More

We needed a guest house due to our apartment being flooded out. Beautiful colonial guest house....needs some TLC. Staff lovely and friendly. Room very spacious. Would have liked the ceiling fan to have worked. Could certainly recommend.

I am so happy you were comfortable during your flooding ordeal. The fan has two chains on it - one either side - one for the fan and one for the light - the fan does work - I checked it immediately. More

During our recent trip in South Africa, we had to make a last minute booking as we could'nt find any place for the New Year's Eve. Thanks to Gisele from African Twist Travel Agency, she'd booked for us one night at Mountain Manor Guesthouse. The place is just perfect, very peaceful, precious & quiet. Michelle, our host, is helpful and... More

Be a bit careful here - they will ask you what you want for breakfast weeks before you get there and then expect to charge you for breakfast whether or not you have actually eaten there. We compared prices and discovered that breakfast was much cheaper in town, so we ate in lovely cafes centrally, and then discovered that we... More

Dear Mam, our reservations go according to your booking form - on the form you ordered full cooked breakfasts inclusive of buffets for the duration of your stay - and this was catered for on a daily basis. You forgot to mention that we did delete the breakfasts not eaten off your bill in good faith of your misunderstanding. Regards More
