Our family of 4 stayed in a self-catering unit for a week in April and had a fantastic experience. The flats are a couple of blocks from the hotel but we did not mind. We went over to the lobby to use the wifi several times a day and got to thus spend time chatting with the WONDERFUL desk staff.... More

The Long Street location is ideal, and the staff is great. Marnie in particular is super helpful. They were very accommodating, and the hotel has neat rooms and interesting decor. The only negative is that the rooms are a little bit small, but that's Cape Town.

This 2 bedroom is quite large and comfortable, for 2-6 people (6 would mean 2 on pull out couch, which I didnt try so to be fair... most comfortable for up to 4 people). It has a washing machine, which depending on travel itinerary/etc, is - or was for me - invaluable. The self-catering kitchen is very modestly stocked, so... More

The hotel is conveniently located, but a lot less costly than the V&A area. It wouldn't be for everyone. The room is small and the bathroom door was see-through. Wasn't a big issue for us since we're brothers, but I could see that being a problem for a lot of people. The staff was really good about helping us with... More

Prior to my arrival, I received several warnings to be careful/vigalint in this area however once I arrived, there was no issue. I loved this buzzing part of town. The accommodation here is very basic but really nicely styled. No frills but none were necessary as it was merely a base for exploring Cape Town. I enjoyed a few drinks... More

The hotel is nicely located on Long Street, perfect to just stumble straight from the bars to bed. It is perfect if you want budget but can't do backpackers. I paid £50 ($80) for a clean spacious double room. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Saw the lovely pictures on the website and though - what a funcky hotel......mmmmm, talk about looks can be deceving...... old building in busy/noicy part of Cape Town. No parking for your car. No TV in room. No kettle in room. No barfridge in room. No bath in bedroom. No windows in room - well, tiny tiny windows at top... More

Of course this is not a Multinational owned & standardized Hotel, as you may know, each room is decorated by a local artist & the feeling to actually sleep inside someone's art creation is very inspiring... For our first encounter with South Africa, just after the plane, Long street was perfect; music shop, restaurants & bars, with a Louisiana kinda... More

Got off to a bad start with this place and it just kept getting worse. I have no idea how it can possibly have won the 'Trip Advisor' prize. After booking two rooms online I called to ask about parking, and was told that they didn't have any rooms for us. It was booked through 'Booking.com' so I was told... More

Where to start? The staff is completely unkind, they just watched us while we were carrying our huge baggage up the stairs, without any help (and we were two little girls). In addition to this, our room was without any window, the towels and linens were dirty and looked old. The rooms are very noisy, you can hear the steps... More
