The last two nights of our trip (ending Nov. 14, 2008) we spent in Kommetjie at the Sunset Beach house. It is absolutely beautiful! Small beach house (max 10 guest), in the dunes at a lovely white beach, near Cape Town. The rooms have a stunning view (see the pictures). We will go back, it's a matter of when. The experience was wonderful for us. (2 adults and 3 kids.) Clean friendly safe with one of the best beaches we have experienced. Great place to stop out of Cape Town and start the Garden Route. Steps to the beach and return to a fantastic dinner. Stayed 2 nights.... not enough.... more

The photos are far from the truth. We found the place to be drab and neglected. The food was so-so, but the wines great. I would advise the owners to upgrade the management. Loved it here, really a great get away, far from the main tourist areas, so a great honeymoon or couples place. Stunning location right on the beach, lovely guest house which is beautifully decorated in beach house style!!
