I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group experience and extended my personal trip for two nights. I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews but the experience turned out to be okay. The facade and the common areas of the hotel are moderately attractive. However, the individual rooms could use renovations (as mentioned in other... More

Lovely friendly staff but the place itself isn't in the best location for safely exploring Cape Town. Rooms were dated, we were given one key between two of us and the rooms don't lock without a key. Wifi worked in reception and breakfast was good. I probably wouldn't rush back.

The hotel has a great location, and the reception staff have a good sense of humour whilst being very helpful. The rooms are below average and the bathrooms could absolutely do with a refurb. The shower was very temperamental, which was not an ideal start to a 40 day overland overland trip. However, the breakfast was really great. The staff... More

This hotel was fine for a night or two. Definitely overpriced ($100) for a 1.5 star hotel. The room looked nice and clean upon entry, but a closer look showed a lot of wear. Needs renovations badly, especially in the bathroom. The walls and curtains in the bathroom were covered in mold. At least the bed was clean. There were... More

I rate this hotel highly bearing in mind it is a budget hotel and not one that offers everything you don't need when staying for a day or three. Starting at reception, the staff were very helpful and friendly. They took our case up to our room on the second floor - there is no lift but the stairs are... More

We have stayed here twice - the first time in 2010 and then in May 2015. The location is great and is situated in a quiet sidestreet off lively Kloof Street where you will find supermarkets and plenty of places to eat! The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet has plenty of variety and there is a chef... More

Older hotel, Friendly staff, double beds in clean room with safe. Grocery store and restaurants and some landmarks only a block away as well as a view of table mountain and a park. Swimming pool. Excellent breakfast. Quiet rooms with outdoor terrace to dry laundry after a long trip.

I stayed for 2 nights in Lady Hamilton in Cape Town and had an amazing experience. The hotel is in an interesting part of the city but is internally located. The quality and variety of the breakfast was a pleasant surprise. However, I was most taken by the excellent service at the reception - the Lady Hamilton staff really made... More
