This is a great place to stay in Cape Town. We were there for 5 days. The staff at the hotel were excellent and helped us with advice on Robben Island, whales at Hermanus, restaurants, when to go to Table Mountain etc. The hotel also had an excellent breakfast to start the day and was located by some great restaurants... The Walden House is a lovely place to stay - a small boutique hotel, with a friendly and very helpful staff which immediately make you feel at home. It is located in an excellent location - very quiet, yet centerally located close to many great restaurants (Asoka, Miller's Thumb, Beleza, and many more), bars and designer shops on the great... My spouse and I recently spend 4 nights at the Walden Guest House (August 2012) and I can say we were very happy with everything. Great location with views on Table Mountain, lots of restaurants close by, quiet, safe district. The building itself is very nice, and we were in the 'honeymoon' suite which is lovely, very spacious and bright.... More

Good impressions are created from the check-in. Friendly, welcoming front of house staff provide loads of suggestions and ideas. We were booked into an upstairs room. Following a cold and wet day after dinner we decided to snuggle down in the comfortable large bed with a cheery fire. A large flat screen TV on top of the courtesy-bar offers numerous channels... Have stayed at Walden House a number of times and always have a most enjoyable stay. Nice and central and a range of restaurants in walking distance. Rooms are well equipped and airy and a delicious breakfast is served. Karen and her team run a good show and always look forward to staying there

We stayed in Walden House three nights on our honeymoon. They reserved for us the suite, excellent accommodation with king size bed, very nice bathroom with both shower and bathtube, comfortable wardrobe. Perfect location to visit Table Mountain, just at a 5 minutes by car from the V&A Waterfront. Nice and helpful staff. Hearty breakfast, both cooked and continental. Complimentary... More

We stayed 3 nights at The Walden House in early April and very much enjoyed it. The hotel is elegant and sophisticated but not stuffy. Much of it is painted white, lending a traditional, well-kept atmosphere. Breakfasts were excellent: hot dishes as well as more continental-style fare. The hotel managers were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way... More
