Our room at the Fritz Hotel offered a great value for the price. We were looking for a basic room with easy access to local sites and restaurants and that is exactly what we got. The hotel is just around the corner from Kloof street and was easy walking distance to everything we needed. The room itself was modest but... More

We stayed in the Fritz Hotel over the summer. Everything from it's location, to the service, and the friendliness of all the staff was amazing.I thoroughly recommend this this place. This is locate in The Gardens area, which is also worth exploring. It's very close to Long Street, and about thirty minutes walking distance to the V and A wharf.... More

The Fritz was the start of our South African visit and it was a perfect place. We stayed upstairs overlooking Lion's Head with a balcony which I highly recommend as it is beautiful and quieter. The bed was very comfortable and waking up to that view amazing! The minute we walked downstairs for breakfast we were greeted and offered coffee... More

The hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to Kloof St, and has available parking for your car. It is on a quiet street, and felt secure and cosy with a gate and courtyard. We were upgraded to a garden room, which was lovely. The building is old but nicely appointed. The owner, Arthur, was warm and welcoming,... More

The Fritz Hotel great location. Great staff but desperately needs a cleanup. Carpets need cleaning drapes and curtains need to be washed and hung properly. General upkeep of rooms can be improved. has great potential.

My fiance stayed here for a total of 6 nights. Overall this is a good base to explore Cape Town. Close to all the restaurants and shops on Long Street, bus stop is right outside (to V&A Waterfront and Airport bus, otherwise a 40 min walk). Table Mountain is just a 10 minute drive and the Hop on Hop Off... More

Thanks for your review. Two remarks: Whereas reception indeed closes at 8 pm there is the night-guard on duty after that and we offer 24 hour check-in service. Secondly, I reckon that our breakfast is top quality. The best available fruit go into the fruit salad, we offer the best meat available like Parma ham, air-dried beef, smoked Kudu, etc... More

We lived in Fritz for 9 nights. It was a very pleasant expereience. The owner is a fantanstic person. Every evening when we came back to the hotel exhaustedly, Arthur (the owner) always kindly made tea/coffee for us. Then, we sat in the living room and chatted with other travelers. Thanks to the evening tea, we made lots of new... More

If you like a hotel with charming old-world character, you'll love this little place! High ceilings, wooden floors, elegant verandas, friendly staff and of course, comfort and cleanliness. Very centrally located and highly recommended!

We stayed our first night in Cape Town at this hotel. Its a very cozy hotel, the room was very small but its a great value for money (breakfast was good and included in the price). The hotel is centrally located. It is walking distance to the best dining options in Cape Town and only a couple mins walk to... More

We discovered this hotel through FNB's rewards program and used that, along with TripAdvisor, as our proxy for judging the quality. This hotel just didnt live up to expectation. We could not sleep because of the noisy wooden flooring and the constant movement of guests. Bring ear plugs if you want to stay at this hotel.
