An African Villa scores top marks for the most important accommodation criteria: location, comfort and service. Behind the residential facade is an intimate and welcoming hotel of a very high standard whose owners/managers are intent on making your stay in Cape Town the best possible experience. Great advice and assistance on the city's fantastic restaurants, tours, taxis, transfers, walks and... More

I think we were upgraded to a larger room and I'm not sure why, but it was large and cozy at the same time. We were here for 5 nights and at no time did we feel anything but totally comfortable. Small touches: we brought lunch in to eat in the outdoor space; the manager on duty immediately brought us... More

My wife and I stayed 5 days in An African Villa and were delighted with the accommodations. The decor was beautiful. The breakfasts were delicious and bountiful. The location was very good for getting to the attractions of Cape Town. What we found most rewarding was the "insider information" that we found so useful as we toured the city. The... More

Sheer class, and comfort. A stunning combination of imaginative design, restrained taste, comfort in every corner, attentive care with discretion. Need a dinner reservation? It's done, and at a nearby excellent restaurant. Need a tourism hint? Ideas and tips are eagerly provided. A tour guide is booked. A fine glass of sherry or port appears as if by magic in... More

Really, this place is perfect. We stayed for 3 nights in the beginning of this month while visiting Cape Town for the first time. All of the owners and staff are super nice and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious. The location is great: cool neighborhood that is full of great restaurants, slightly removed from the super-touristy parts (in a good... More

We loved this place and will definitely come back if we make it back to Cape Town. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Even other guests can't help but be pleasant. The rooms were really nice, a view of Table Mountain out the back, food was excellent and the decor is divine. Also close to public transportation and access to... More

It is my great pleasure to give maximum grades to An African Villa. We stayed there for two nights and are still under the charm. The location is perfect, not far from Long Street, the decoration is extremely tasteful, the room was flawless, the breakfast was a pleasure and our hosts were professional and charming. Attention is paid to small... More

An African Villa is owned and operated by very competent and accommodating hosts. The location is excellent - easy to walk to town or restaurants in the evening. The rooms are well appointed and the extras are awesome - tea/coffee in the room, port or sherry in the sitting rooms, fast WiFi, extensive breakfasts, great recommendations and more. Don't hesitate... More
