Starting with positives...the staff were friendly and helpful, clean rooms and bathrooms and lots of kitchen and home amenities in the 2 apartments. Fabulous views of table mountain, port and waterfront. Breakfast was simple but ample for us (eggs, breads, muffins, cereals, juices, yoghurts). Very safe with locked doors and gates to every area. 15 min walk to waterfront (keep... More

We had room 8 which has its own balcony that has views over the Cape Town harbour and waterfront - spectacular. The balcony of the breakfast room also has great views of Table Mountain. This room is part of 'apartment' that has just three rooms and together has own kitchen and shared lounge as well as a second downstairs balcony... More

Not bad for a budget traveller if you don't mind a tiny room and the stale smell. The walls are nowhere near soundproof as you can hear everything that goes on in the adjacent room. Bring your own soap as the quality of it in the dispenser is terrible. Not too sure how they managed to achieve a 3 star... More

I stayed De WaterKant lodge last year and I had a wonderful time. I had taken a car for hire, but as a new person in Cape Town, I did not have a good idea of the local roads. The people who run the hotel spent a long time to explain the city map that helped me traverse around to... More

This place has a great location within Cape Town with a few nice bars and restaurants nearby to choose from. It is sort of mid way between the Waterfront and long st, so plenty of options all around. The guest house itself is a no fuss sort of place where you pretty much look after yourself. The caretakers aren't there... More

Very nice guest-house in central location in CT. Very large room with beautiful bathroom and over-sized bath-tub. Lots of packing space in the room. Classical feel to it. Excellent value for central CT. Only off-street parking, but bus stop very nearby if needed. Breakfast is minimal. Be warned though they try and charge a fee if you check-in after 17h00... More

I have stayed at the Lodge a number of times. Do try to get a room upstairs. It is central, convenient, parking is not impossible and there is a great yoga studio around the corner. The breakfast is indifferent, but has a great view. many other breakfast options very close by.

Great location in DeWaterkrant which is very central, convenient and vibey. Very clean and well presented rooms. Great value given the location and cleanliness. However our experience was awful and we left early the first morning of a two night stay. When we arrived the welcome was off, we were just made to pay and no real warmth in the... More

We stayed here as a group of friends and the positives were that we were able to have a little house to ourselves, in a pretty central location. However, the owners have very strange (and strict) rules about check-in hours, and were generally pretty unhelpful. We couldn't have breakfast because they didn't serve it until after we had to leave... More

as they say in real estate: location location location! very nice neighborhood with restaurants, cafes, sloping streets and close to the waterfront. the manager was very nice, as we were a couple of hours late for check-in (too much traffic at cape hope and bad cell phone reception), but we called him 20mins in advance and everything was professionally handled....
