My husband and I traveled to Africa with our two teenaged daughters, so we requested rooms next to one another when making the reservation. Upon arrival in Capetown, my husband verified that the rooms were next to one another and not near an elevator. The reception agent assured him that was the case. We were taken to our rooms only... more

I checked in on the 19th June and handed a credit card to the member of staff at reception to cover incidentals such as drinks, minibar etc. When I checked out I paid in cash, only to find out subsequently that not only had the hotel also debited my card twice, but it had also been used fraudulently to by... more

Had stayed at this hotel a few times, some years earlier. Outstanding destination, for starters - Cape Town is definitely a magical city for a visitor (though, like many other magical cities, I'm sure it has its issues if you live there). We usually request airport pick-up from the hotel, which in our experience was always reliable - the driver... more

The hotel has an incredible location on the waterfront, perfect for travelers who only have a few days to see all the major sites in Cape Town. The hotel staff were very accommodating and responsive when a few minor services were unavailable when we first checked in. The staff quickly reacted to the problems in our room and upgraded us... more

Our second stay at this hotel and our Room facing the Piazza was much preferred to our first stay...a more expensive Loft room with partial views of Table Mountain. The Piazza room was very spacious with separate shower/bathroom and toilet. I would certainly recommend - by the way the street entertainment stops quite early in the evening and starts late... more

We arrived before the check in time, so left our luggage and went for a walk around the waterfront until we could go to our room. We recieved a complimentary half bottle of sparking wine, which was very good. Our room overlooked the plaza, but was huge and very comfortable. we did havea problem with air conditioning not working, but... more

What a fantastic surprise. We had wanted to stay at another hotel in the waterfront, but they were fully booked. For less, I feel we stayed at the better place. The room we had was wonderful (king, mountain view). The staff were very friendly and helpful, with a full tour desk. The breakfasts were to die for in both food... more

We stayed at the V&A twice within 2 weeks for 1 night and 4 night stays. Speaking to the transportation issues noted but other posters, we had requested their van service to pick us up at the airport on the first stay, they send their station wagon so for 4 adults and luggage we were very cramped. Overall the drivers... more

Best Hotel on the waterfront, right in the middle of it all but very safe, very nice, big rooms, well appointed with great views. We went for a Plazza room rather than a mountain view which was as well. We could sit on the window cill with a glass of wine and enjoy the entertainments in the Plazza. Breakfast was... more

My wife and I stayed here for a week in December 2008 and had a great time. We had a second floor room overlooking the harbour with picture postcard views of Table Mountain and the waterfront, so couldn't have asked for more. For this, the price was surprisingly reasonable. The room was large and comfortable and the service generally very... more
