I stayed at the Commodore for business in early Aug 2014. I chose the hotel for its rates and its location. I had to drive in and out of the city to go to meetings, and this was really perfect to be based here for 4 nights. The hotel is classic, but the staff was very helpful and professional. The... More

I stayed here for one night in August whilst on business. I arranged an airport pickup and drop off and that was seamless. I opted for a business room on 6th floor. The room wax clean and tidy and had amazing views of the marina and table mountain. I would have slept perfectly if it had not been for a... More

I spent five nights in this hotel. It is very well located and easy to move around Cape Town, taxis to the hotel are relatively cheap from other parts of the city. The rooms seem a little bit old. Breakfast is average as well. Friendly staff and nice bar.

I've been to this hotel on a business trip to South Africa passing by Cape Town before travelling back to Dubai. The Commodore hotel is a fair price/quality ratio with rooms confortable enough for a good sleep after a day outside. CapeTown offers this wonderful view of the Table mountain everywhere in the city, the hotel has its part of... More

Great place to stay, within walking distance of the city, but more importantly, close to the Bars and Restaurants at the waterfront! As it is close to waterfront, easy access to ferry to Robbin Island etc. Breakfast was excellent, but dinner was a disappointment, whereas those who ate at the bar experienced much better service. Rooms were very clean and... More

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and our stay has always been enjoyable. Two minutes walk to the Water Front, what else do you want. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is the best I have had, so much to choose from.

This hotel is ideally situated if you plan on spending a lot of time in and around the waterfront - it is approximately 400m away. This hotel falls within the "average" bracket for me due to cost vs value. The breakfast was great and offered a decent variety. the rooms were "ok". they are clean and neat, but space is... More

Unfortunately, our stay here started out on a very sour note – a confrontational and rude hotel manager who twice in a row put us in a room that did not reflect our booking. The rooms were very dated and tired looking. That said, if you stay here, one of the redeeming features is the Admiralty bar - Very lovely... More

The Commodore is a couple of minutes walk from the V&A waterfront, great location to shop and center point of all tour activities. The rooms clean and good sized, with a average sized balcony but with excellent views of table mountain and the waterfront. Food was good, reasonably priced and decent sized proportions. A very comfortable, utilitarian hotel with nothing... More

This hotel has all the basics you need and is well-located for shopping. Great spread at breakfast, but Menu is rather limited for dinner. Good options for food around the pool and in the lovely courtyard. Bathrooms are very basic and baths are rather narrow if you are of a more generous size. The gym has great and fully functional...
