The hotel was comfortable, though the room was a bit tired. However the staff in particular made our stay special. The evening meals we experieced were fantastic and raised our expectations. However if you like good wines then the availability was limited. Pool area was good but not suitable for wheelchair access or people with mobility issues, which could easily be... More

Hotel is very nice and the location great. Does what is says on the tin. Food for breakfast is above average buffet. Great view of Table Mountain from our bedroom window. short walk to shops and great selection of restaurants.

Was fortunate enough to spend a week in lovely Cape Town, made even more special being hosted at the gracious Commodore Hotel - in the Imperial Suite on the 6th floor. The rooms were large and beautifully decorated with classic, old-world charm. Panoramic views from the balcony, of Table Bay, the Mountain and the City. The breakfasts were unforgettable, and... We stayed here for five nights on our arrival in South Africa and found it really relaxing. Our room was comfortable, clean and we had a lovely view of the Table Mountain from one of our windows. I don't think all rooms had this view so we were lucky. It has a small swimming pool which is more for cooling... More

Well The Commodore is a 4 star property no a walkable distance from V&A waterfront . Rooms are not that spacious but good for a couple . Rooms are clean with comfy bed and sound air con system. Shower area is too congested but over all a good experience Commodore has a huge lobby and good functional Gym. Breakfast spread... More

The Commodore is just a great four stars hotel in Cape town with a goos service quality. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront nearby is definitely a plus and must visit. I do recommend this place and enjoy !

I was drawn by the name of the Hotel. My Personal Assistant presented a number of options and I liked the name and went for it. A very neatly kept establishment with a reasonably equipped Gym just enough for holidaymakers. The Commodore's location is most ideal for holiday and in particular if you favour the V&A waterfront and city centre... More

The Commodore is superbly located within a 5 minute walk of the V + A waterfront and other central attractions. It has welcoming and helpful staff and a pretty good restaurant. The rooms, are decently sized and outfitted, but look tired. The air con in my room barely functioned and was irritatingly noisy, a real problem in unseasonably hot January Cape... More
