We stayed in the Commondore hotel during our trip to South Africa. Our travel agancy selected that hotel because its good location. Service was excellent and the room clean. There wasn't any noice from street even we had our room in that side. Spool are rather small, but the garden is beautiful and you had posibility to have breakfast there.

This Hotel has a great position BUT the rooms need a serious revamp. Very 1980's. Rooms are of a good size and are clean and comfortable but they have no soul to them, old furniture and are in need of a serious upgrade. This Hotel could be so much better if it was closed for 6 months and given a... More

Commodore Hotel is very close to the Waterfront, less then 5 minutes walking . The general areas are very nicely furnished Colonial style .We had the very best breakfast with very fine coffee and tea . We Turkish people are picky when it comes to a nice cup of tea . Rooms are spacey and clean but needs alittle bit... More

The location is really great. However this Hotel really needs a serious revamp. The rooms are good but the air-condition sounds like having a generator in the same room. The bathroom was littered with hair, as were some of the other guests rooms as well... and the breakfast staff were very friendly, but the chef making the eggs was not... More

Close to Waterfront but long way from town. Has more charm than many of the larger chains. Pool area smallish but quiet and pleasant. Pool water cold. Good buffet breakfast. This hotel is fine, but not outstanding. Not very efficient at ordering taxis, quicker to walk to the waterfront where they are readliy available.

Chose this hotel near Sea Point for its location near shopping, water and a number of activities such as the place where Mandela was held prisoner. It is indeed a good location. However, it's an old building with small cramped rooms. The mattresses were thin, the bathrooms really dated and a front desk that was not very polite or helpful.... More

Comfortable rooms, efficient and friendly staff, and a great breakfast. Very close to the V&A Waterfront attractions and restaurants, as well as the terminus for the Sightseeing Bus, but a couple of streets back so no noise or crowds.

We ended out tour by staying at this lovely hotel near the waterfront. It is a classy looking place with fresh flowers in the lobby. The staff were very helpful also. You can walk to the downtown in less than 10 minutes for shopping and eating. The rooms were clean and fresh with good sleeping. Yes also a very tasty... More

This Hotel was perfect for a combination of Business and Holiday. The service was both warm and efficient. The Hotel driver was employed for a days meetings around the Cape Town area and efficiently got us to all appointments on time. The Dining room also provided a quiet corner for a Breakfast meeting The Hotel is a stones throw from... More

Average hotel room-a bit dated. Bathroom is very small and only a shower in the bath. Nothing great about breakfast-limited variety. Poor buffet setup and below average service from staff. Outside parking at no cost. In-room dining is very limited and a bit expensive. Centrally located and close to waterfront, shops and cafes. Probably won't stay there again.
