We stayed for a week at the Commodore as part of a Africa trip which brought us to Zimbabwe and Cairo as well as Cape Town. This place fit the bill for our family for a lot of reasons. Want to just be able to walk to everything? Within 10 minutes you have mini golf, shopping, restaurant's, museums, the Aquarium,... More

Our tour group from New Zealand spent three nights at the hotel and we found it very good. It is well located close to the waterfront. The rooms were good, and we were not at all troubled by noise within the hotel or from the street. The breakfasts were excellent and we particularly enjoyed the fruit. We used the hotel... More

We stayed at The Commodore as the last leg of our South Africa trip and it was the best hotel I have stayed at in a very long time. Our room was large and comfortable and we even had a tiny balcony overlooking the main street. The location of this hotel to the waterfront can't be beat and there is... More

We spent 4 nights here recently, at the beginning of an African safari tour. The hotel is very comfortable, with reasonably spacious rooms. The lounge/bar and dining room are very good - we never had a bad meal. It caters to both tourists and business travelers. It is very close to the Cape Town waterfront/tourist area and seemed quite safe.... More

Spent 11 nights here in June, while attending a conference and on an extended vacation. I was very pleased wih the accommodations, service, location and hospitality. The day after I checked in I asked staff if I could be moved to a room with a better view. They were more than happy to fulfill my request, and my new room... More

We stayed at the Commodore for one night on the 21st May. It was lovely. The staff were really nice. We were early for check in, so we were asked to wait in the lounge and they brought us tea whilst we waited. The room was overlooking the courtyard. We could see the World cup final Stadium from our room.... More

We stayed in April for 8 nights. The location is excellent being only a five minute walk to the Waterfront. It felt safe even after dark walking back despite one or two people begging. We had a room on the 6th floor , executive floor having being upgraded at check in following a misunderstanding that our booking had been cancelled!... More

We spent two days in May, as part of package arranged by travel agent. Hotel is neat, convenient, and staff very friendly. The rooms may look old and dark, but we felt at home. The good: Breakfast: excellent. Fresh fruit, fresh juice, sausage, roasted patato, as well as omelette station. We enjoyed the variety. Omelette station cook was really friendly.... More

I stayed here while on a business trip. Good hotel, close to the V&A Waterfront and safe. Hotel room was nice, clean and everything worked, even EU electrical sockets underneath the desk. Breakfast was excellent.

The most amazing, helpful and friendly staff!!! We got there early in the morning way before check in- we waited 10min, no issue what so ever and got our in to our room. Everything you needed was in there, as well as breathtaking views of table mountain. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely go back:)
