The Commodore was absolutely beautiful and the accommodations were top notch. The staff were professional, extremely accommodating and friendly. It had all of the amenities and attention to detail of the best resorts, yet with a much more affordable price tag.

Anytime you can walk from your hotel to some of the best restaurants, pubs and shopping in a large city is good. The Commodore is located under 5 minutes walk to the Victoria Albert Waterfront in Cape Town South Africa. V & A has some of the best seafood and steak restaurants and stores in Cape Town. For North Americans,... More

Spent 7 nights at the Commodore in Cape Town. Our room had a view of Table Mountain, which was great. The hotel is centrally situated and near the waterfront. It is very clean, the staff were exceptionally polite and the breakfast very good. Laurien at the Travel Desk was a great help and always willing to suggest things. She is... More

Had 3 days in Cape Town, the Commodore was a great place to stay. Lovely view of Table mountain from our room, sometime clear other times coved in cloud (table cloth). Good hotel in the centre of the waterfront, good base for sight seeing (Red tourist bus) easy walking and good eating places. Excellent location

My sister and I recently spent 3 nights at the Commodore. We had a very comfortable room on the 6th floor with a small balcony and a view of both the waterfront and table mountain-fortunately we saw this latter on day one as it was obscured by a heavy mist for the subsequent 2 days. We enjoyed our stay in... More

I am a single traveler. But I went to Cape town with tourist group. The hotel is very close to V&A(It takes 5 minutes walking) Room was very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Kettle, tea, coffee, milk is room facilities. They put new ones everyday. The staff is very helpful, kind but they are slow. In South Africa , people are slow..... More

Out the back gate, down some stairs, cross the street and you are right into the V &A waterfront. The hotel is said to be in the safest part of Cape Town, in the waterfront area security people are very numerous. Hotel is an older property, but we'll maintained. We stayed 6 nights for a conference at the CTCC. Our... More

We stayed for two nights after arriving in Cape Town. Staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The location is great and safe, to explore the Waterfront area. Hotel was very clean and our room had a great view overlooking Table Mountain. Breakfast buffet has basically everything you need and caters for many tastes. Free wifi and valet... More

When I visit Cape Town I usually stay at the Portswood Hotel, in the vicinity of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. This time the hotel was closed due to a major refurbishment, so I elected to stay at the adjacent Commodore Hotel, also part of the Legacy Hotels organization. My room, located on the 6th Floor, was classed as a... More

The Commodore hotel is a few minuets walk from the lively Waterfront area. Check-in was quick, simple with helpful advice. The room was a good size. Although the furniture looks old and dark wood, it was clean. Two windows, one with a view of Table Mountain the other of the sea - spoilt for choice. WiFi log on was free,... More
