Pros: Good location across from Cape Town International Convention Centre, free parking in front of the hotel (not covered), DSTV. Clean (even if tired). Shower has good pressure. That's really the only things to recommend this place. Cons: Rather stale late 1980s hotel trying to still retain some semblance of a luxury hotel, but decidedly not. At best, a 3-star... More

After a long flight, we were left waiting in the lobby for 3 hours. The reception staff could not look at me and only discussed the situation among themselves. Finally we got a room and it had not been well cleaned. The carpet was badly stained and had crumbs on it. The balcony (a lovely view of the car park)... More

We visited the hotel on 10 Dec 2014. After waiting 20 into get checked in (although there was no other guest checking in) the room was clean but old. At 08600 the next morning room service woke us up to clean our room. We were not even awake or dressed. The breakfast was below par and check out was also... More

Booked a table of 10 for a year end lunch. Firstly take note, all halaal, no alcohol served, no byo. Long queues for the buffet. Quite disgusted that none of the prawns were deveined and I complained. Ended up not eating at all as I was put off by the queues. Overall very average and not a place I would... More

We arrived at 3 in the morning after 13hrs travelling. We payed for our stay although the entrance appearance left us sceptical to their 4 star rating. We got into a very dirty looking elevator, reached our floor and walk down a very soiled looking carpet passage to our room. The final straw came when we were warmly greeted by a... More

The hotel is located on a pedestrian square, which makes it a quiet place. It is only a 15 to 20-minute walk to the waterfront, 5 minutes to Long st, which is a touristy street in Cape Town with plenty of restaurants. Rooms are very spacious and quiet, with a very large desk, and nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet is... More

The only reason I am giving this review 1 points is because the elevator attendant and the staff member that drove us to the waterfront was fabulous. As for the rest, shady. This was a suggested hotel with a discounted rate for the conference I was going to be attending. To my surprise, booking with the hotel, for the conference,... More

We have stayed for 4 days at the Capetonian last May. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the room looked quite new, specially the bathroom. We stayed at a sizable two room suite on the 12th floor with a veranda spanning both rooms and from which we had a beautifull view of the Table Mountain. Location is splendid and... More
