Location is very good, specially if you are self driving. We had a great bed and breakfast was alright. In the room there was a very loud and annoying noise, probably water running in some pipe. The shower water would be either to hot or too cold. Hotel has a very decadent feeling, most definitely needs some work done.

We stayed for one night at The Capetonian, Cape Town this weekend. Although oldish and in need of a revamp, I took the 4 star rating in my stride. Although clean, I was surprised to find a plastic beaker in the bathroom (the last time I've seen one in a room, was in a 2 star hotel in India). We... More

This hotel is centrally located and mins from all of the attractions of Cape Town. Close to public transportation and the airport. Dining was pretty good except there needs to be more variety at breakfast, fried fish and pork needs to be added to the menu but it was still pretty decent. The dinner buffet was delicious but the drinks need... We stayed at the Capetonian hotel for 4 nights in early January. The hotel, though a bit dated inside, we found to be clean, tidy and well kept. The staff were always polite and friendly and there's a parrot who lives at the reception called 'Captain'. The breakfasts were very nice and there was a large choice. There was a... More

Average quality hotel, in central Cape Town, walking distance from CTICC and the CT club life. The rooms are decent, and are rather designed for business travelers (big stand alone desk with power points) than for holiday makers. A bathroom combines bath and shower in one, which is totally uncool, and if you are taller than 1,7m, you will need... More

We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights. I solidly believe it is solid 3 star hotel and not 4 stars. It is positioned in a good and secure location from which it easy to access Company Park, Table Mountain, Beaches, Events, Restaurants etc. The hotel has outdated interior and feels 80's. The buffet breakfast was barely average as variety... More

My wife and I stayed five nights at the Capetonian in December 2013. Our stay was more or less enjoyable, mostly due to the hotel's relatively secure location at the heart of Cape Town's business district. On the positive side, the hotel offers a free shuttle to the V&A Waterfront every hour and on-demand pickups on the quarter-hour. The hotel's... More

Firstly the good points and these are the staff. What a wonderful group of people, who were keen to help although they only had one speed which wasn't fast. But a brilliant smile always helps. Not sure why it requires someone to stand outside the lift and ask you for your floor number and then enter it into the lift... More
