We had recently read that the Protea group of hotels had been taken over by the Marriott group, so we decided to give this a try as we were visiting Cape Town. Cape Town & its surrounding areas lives up to its reputation of being one of the most beautiful cities in the world! However, the hotel has some way... More

An average hotel in the old part of Cape Town. The Building is an old-style one. Parking in the building is difficult to navigate. The hotel interior is old. The rooms are okay but worn. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was great and had variety. I had a room with a lovely view of the harbour. The vicinity in which... More

Dear Dezign99 Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We're glad you were comfortable and would stay again. We accept the parking is narrow and one has to take care - the restrictions of a high rise building in the City. Kind Regards David Wilson Poe General Manager More

I have been visiting this hotell many times, for both business and family vacation. The hotel management and staff welcome you back as a dear friend. I have never met a level of service and friendliness like here in any other hotel. The staff really makes you feel welcome and feel like home. In addition the rooms are big, nice... More

Well priced, good location, well serviced, under cover parking and good service from staff. Really enjoyed our stay, well worth it. Great view of V & A, also has a kitchen for self catering and good pool for summer months.

Have a business trip one night stay in the hotel with great pleasure. Room was clean, spacious and has a small kitchenette which is much appreciated for the morning wake-up coffee! Restaurant is as much as in the other kind of hotels, service friendly and good. Walking distance to the waterfront area with bars, shops and other activities.

Enjoyed the visit, however, mostly because of location and not because of what the hotel offered. We did stay in the only available accommodation in the hotel as they were fully booked. If we stayed again, which we may in the future, we would definitely book the superior room because it offers much more for only a small difference in... More

I'd stay here again if I needed to save money for better accommodation elsewhere. There's a lot to see and do in Cape Town so we weren't in the hotel much. It was adequate. Clean. Comfy. Handy location.

You get exactly the 3 star experience here. No more, no less. Rooms/linens are clean. Our bathroom was unbelievably loud. Staff was pleasant to a point. Wifi worked poorly despite calls to staff for assistance. Requested a queen bed and got 2 singles next to each other, had no room to change. Great views of Table Mountain. Within walking distance... My daughter, her husband and I travelled from Malawi for a weeks stay in CT on vacation. When we called ahead, very friendly agent Genevieve answered and arranged a convenient pickup from the airport. We felt R400 charge a bit too much at the time. The friendliness of the staff and all the convenient amenities made up for it. The... More

Dear nimjas01 Thank you for taking the time to post a review. R400 for three persons for an airport transfer is pretty standard. Transport costs are escalating. We're pleased you took on the challenge of shark diving and hope you had the opportunity to enjoy lots of what Cape Town has to offer. Kind Regards David Wilson Poe General Manager More

I'd give this place 3.5 stars if I was able... We stayed here as we got a good rate through hotels.com for a weeklong stay. Been a bit spoiled from our last few trips by staying in luxury hotels. This is not a luxury hotel. However, it is clean, comfortable and totally fine, especially if you're not going to be... More
