This hostel is in a great location, it was clean, safe and had a nice view. It wasn’t overly warm and inviting. Check in process could have been a bit better (although we were coming in at a late time). It would be nice if water for guests was a bit easier to access or coffee in the morning etc. We enjoyed talking to other guests at the bar.

Stayed at Villa Viva for about two weeks total during my study abroad program. Super clean and spacious rooms and the staff is absolutely amazing! They also have events at the hostel throughout the week to meet and mingle with the staff and other people staying there. Couldn’t recommend Villa Viva enough!! Definitely stay here if you get the chance.

This accommodation was a fantastic few in the beautiful city of Cape Town. Very eclectic mix of visitors from young backpackers, families and couples. We stayed in an en-suite double room which was perfect for our needs. There are so many beautiful communal areas to relax in and the bar was always relaxing and comfortable. They have organised activities that you can join or you can simply use it as a base to stay in. Would thoroughly recommend and it’s great to know that some of the revenue goes to a worthy cause.

We stayed for four nights at The Backpack and really enjoyed our stay! Staff are super friendly and you'll quickly feel at home here. Good location for bars and restaurants, love the views of Table Mountain from our bedroom window! Happy to support a place with so much heart that gives back to the community and supports others. Highly recommended!

We always stay at the Backpack when staying in Cape Town. This place is the best value for your money and the staff are always so friendly! We always make a point to bing donations for their community work. The double rooms with or without ensuites are lovely. They have new windows in some of the rooms on the road/pool side which make them very quiet.
