This was one of the first houses built in Cape Town. It is based just outside the centre of the city, with a 20 minute walk to the centre or a 30 minute walk to the V & A waterfront ( or a short taxi ride, approx R90 (£4.50). The decor is in keeping with a historical cottage. A great... More

Parker Cottage fully deserves all the outstanding reviews it receives. Phil and Liz have designed a beautiful guest house full of charm and character. The location is perfect for access to central Cape Town and all the wonderful restaurants. The service throughout was first class with memorable breakfasts. A 'top' 3 days and we can't wait to return.

Let's get the bad out of the way first: our room was gloomy and I must have hit my head against the white bar over the bed half a dozen times. Perhaps I am a slow learner! The good news is mainly around the level of service. I am 60 and I cannot remember better service anywhere in my travels... More

Thanks for the review and in particular the compliments about the service: we really do try as hard as we can to best the five star hotels in town on that score. We don't see why you should have to pay three times the price of a B&B just to get good service. That should be standard, no matter what... More

We recently stayed at Parker Cottage for 6 nights at the end of our Garden Route tour. What can I say, this place simply blew us away! Everything from the extremely welcoming reception to the very quaint and cosy town house feel of the property and the exceptionally good breakfast was just perfect! We stayed in the Paterson Room (room... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and were very impressed by how charming this B&B was! It is exactly how you would picture a cozy and quaint B&B with some British touches. Tomas greeted us warmly, showed us our room and gave us the lay of the land. Our room was labeled as the smallest but we were quite surprised... More

My husband and I stayed at Parker Cottage for 4 nights at the tail end of our South Africa vacation. We were warmly greeted by the staff and was given great information about what to do in the Cape Town area. Breakfast here is a wonderful experience. The food is superb, with new specials every day! We stayed in one... More

Thanks Nigel! Yes, Chris is a bit of a legend. We've been working with him for over seven years now (in fact, we encouraged him to start his own business) and he's been superb ever since. Glad you liked the area: as we live around the corner we know exactly what you mean. Tambie (as we call Tamboerskloof) has the... More

We had just three days at Parker Cottage after a long flight from the UK but we would definitely come back again. Every little detail has been thought of and nothing is too much trouble. The kitchen access and honesty bar were a great plus. I have stayed in some amazing hotels (for business) in the past but this was... More

Thanks so much Kathie! We match up to business hotels, do we? Well, we're most honoured to hear that, especially as we're just a humble little three star B&B. Really glad you enjoyed. More

I stayed at Parker Cottage for the second time in November 2015 and spent another delightful week in Cape Town at Parker Cottage. For those coming for the first time to CT, it's a lovely B&B in a quiet, but central, neighborhood in CT, easily walkable to many attractions (or a short cab ride) and to many great restaurants! Hosts... More

It was just wonderful to see you again Elizabeth, coming up for air as you do when you leave your 'other' African home. Thanks so much for choosing us again and for writing us yet another five star review. We couldn't have a greater compliment really. More

It can not be better than tis. Everything, from breakfast to staff to rooms to garden and the owner Phil is absolutely amazing. It feels like you finally came home. I love the place. I can't wait to get back.

This may not be the longest review we've ever had but it may just be the best. Something about this review just kind of defines why our staff get out of bed so early and work so hard to make every stay special. We are so grateful, Mikael. You're missed. More
