fabulous place out of the bustle but near the tour bus route for travelling round, Parkers cottage is beautifully furnished with attention to every last detail; but what makes it different from other guest houses are the staff, so welcoming, so friendly, so actually interested in you and your needs. the small touches like the blackboard by the front door,... Thank you so much Hilary! You get the award for being the first guest to mention the word 'love' in an review, from the perspective of the love that we put into Parker Cottage. Perhaps it's an overstatement but I really don't think so. Liz and I do love what we do and we love to employ people who also... More

For our first trip to South Africa, my boyfriend and I chose to stay in Parker Cottage for four nights having read a number of excellent reviews, but our stay was even better than expected. All of the staff were wonderful, and nothing was too much trouble, from booking us tables at restaurants and trips at no extra cost, to... More

Thank you so much Amy! What a lovely review. Yes, location is always a challenge. We chose Lower Tamboerskloof because it's quiet and secure enough to be able to walk everywhere. The Old Town tends to be noisy day and night, particularly Long Street, and so although it's more central, it's not so pleasant. So pleased you enjoyed the breakfasts:... More

Have stayed in many B&Bs and this is number 1. Keys for us are quality of beds, quality of breakfast and staff/hosts. Location, price, these are individual to every client so won't mention here. Stayed 6 days IN 2 rooms: Both beds super comfortable, both rooms charmingly decorated, clean and well maintained. Since I don't trust reviews without some word... More

We stayed at Parker Cottage for 2 nights. It is in a nice neighbourhood and a really good location. From Parker Cottage the Waterfront, Table Mountain and the beaches, and Chapmans Peak are not too far away by car. The staff is amazing. The were not only friendly and helpful but extremely accommodating. Both Phil and Tristan went out of... More

As the title says what more can be said about Parker Cottage that hasn't been said before by the numerous satisfied reviewers. Not a lot really, just do yourself a favour and forget all the other accommodation you could book in Cape Town and stay at this magnificent guesthouse. Phil and all his fantastic staff go beyond the call of... More

Parker Cottage...it's lovely. Actually more of a very special (boutique) small hotel than a B&B. The location is excellent, very central but very quiet and yet close to some fantastic eateries...and everything else you could need. The neighbourhood is very 'of the moment Capetown'. Parker Cottage is very special...comfortable with lovely rooms and huge comfy beds..lots of little extras...and fresh... More

Thank you so much Julie: high praise indeed from a very highly rated guesthouse owner. It's particularly nice of you to mention the flowers: it's not a small amount of work in the summer heat to keep them looking and smelling fresh. I'd say it's about 40 minutes of work a day for Tomas who is most certainly the best... More

At Parker Cottage they helped us to get the most wonderful stay! We simply loved to stay at Parker Cottage: the warm welcome and the wonderful staff was amazing, the room, the breakfast, the assistance offered to book venues, and advices on the choice of adventure that was proposed for the days!

A wonderful stylish home on the edge of the downtown area in Cape Town. There are 10 rooms in this place, so it's a 'cottage' in the same way that the White House is a 'house' but it never felt when we were there that this was anything other than a very personal experience with lovely people who were entirely... Thanks so much Garreth H! Yes, we've never been too keen on the thing that passes for breakfast in most B&Bs in the world (or, for that matter, some hotels...). I once ordered a vegetarian cooked breakfast in London and was delighted (or rather not at all) to find that a sausage, cut in half lengthways, had been added to... More

We stayed at Parker Cottage for a week in January 2015 .....There are many ways to classify a B & B ....such as friendliness, privacy, quality of the breakfasts, assistance offered to book venues, advice (if asked) on the choice of adventure that is proposed for the day, comfort of the bed and room amenities. In all categories, we found... More

Spent five nights in January, 2015 at Parker Cottage. This is a lovely and spacious house located in a residential neighborhood but within walking distance of shops and good restaurants. The bedrooms are good sized as were the baths. Very comfortable - you will sleep well. Staff is extremely attentive and helpful providing restaurant recommendations, directions, and making transportation arrangements.... More
