After a lovely stop at the refurbished hotel I had a pleasant drink on the stoep. Only when I got back to my car did I discover that I had left the mobile phone on the table. I went back to find the table cleared but no mobile had been found... When I asked reception weather they could ask the... More

A beautiful hotel in a breathtaking setting. We went for lunch, and although the waitress was friendly, the rest of the staff in reception and restaurant were totally disinterested in their customers. We were offered one small plastic menu between us, which contained a poor choice of meals. When served, the food was insipid and no thought had gone into... More

The setting is peaceful, serene and beautiful. The staff are friendly, well trained and eager to assist. The food is great and the dinner dance is a treat with a great mix of great dance classics through the ages. The rooms are comfortable without being opulent and the furniture is of a good quality and thus the Inn offers fantastic... More

We enjoyed our one night stay. The hotel is situated in a beautiful venue, and the personnel are very friendly and helpful. A full breakfast is offered with a wide variety of hot and cold items. Do not expect ultimate luxury or complete privacy, as the rooms are close to each other. However, the hotel offers an old world and... More

I have long yearned for a taste of the Houw Hoek Inn, having passed it on many an occasion during travels up & down the Garden Route. I finally got my chance last Sunday when I hosted an office dinner there. From the unfriendly reception, to the raised eyebrows over my enquiry about the pre-arranged baby-sitting, to the inability to... More

Lovely historic inn..all fireplace, thick walls, cosy pub, verandah, green lawns and giant trees. We didn't stay in the main building but in one of the rooms in the newer section. Each had a fireplace with fresh wood. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Setting is beautiful. Good relaxing spot, some nice walks It was cold when we went but... More

The inn is picturesque, quaint, and intimate. Fireplaces in each room make for a great fall or early spring destination. Wake to mountain views, walk the grounds for some beautiful wildlife, and dine around the fire pit. Had a great time celebrating with friends and family.

Great rooms and service and the usual fantastic food for the Dinner/Dance. The pre-laid fire in the room, ready to light with plenty of wood was fantastic. Weather was cold and miserable with rain, but rooms really cosy and warm.

The food is Great. The dining area for the hole group of 30, plus many more Tables available.... Probably can seat around 60 clients! Will surely return with my family I wish I could have had the opportunity to stay longer Stop over and check for yourself, as I fell in heart and soul for the massive tree in front... More
