This is a great , traditional hotel with nice features like afternoon tea. But otherwise falls a little bit short on other things. Rooms are ok, but you 'feel' that the hotel is old, rooms have a lot of upgrade potential. Bar is tiny and not very attractive. Service ok, slow and not very pro active. But very friendly. Restaurant... More

We spent 5 days at the Table Bay Hotel as an extension to a South Africa touring holiday. The location on the V&A is perfect, beautiful views of Table Mountain, well located for the shops/restaurants of the V&A, and close to the majority of Cape Town's other tourist activities. The breakfast is superb, and the staff could not have been... More

This hotel was fantastic! The staff was always helpful and friendly. Everyone was smiling from sun up to sundown. We were met at the airport by a very professional man. He drove to the hotel pointing out sites along the way. There were bottled water and face cloths in the car for freshening up. The check in was a breeze,... More

Have just had 4 nights at this fabulously located hotel. Adjacent to the waterfront and a huge shopping mall what more would you want! The breakfast is superb and champagne and a pianist are complimentary. All the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Also very secure.

The staff from the front desk to the Concierge staff could not make you feel more welcomed. The location at the V&A waterfront allows for easy cab ride to the fascinating Table Mountain with its own flora to Robben Island . A true contrast in visits indeed.

Booked months ago specifically requesting a double bed but given a twin. Was told that they would change the bed. Trip round mall. Nothing changed. Complain again. Dinner - nothing changed. Get duty manager. Finally moved room at 9pm. Pffff. Breakfast. Ordered eggs benedict three times. Tea had to be ordered twice. Toast burnt. Butter frozen. Gym small and old... More

First visit to Cape town, and was recommended the Table Bay by the Travel agent. We chose to upgrade our room to the the mountain view room, which overlooked the harbour as well as the table mountain. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast which was included in our package was great. The hotel was close to the V&A... More

We enjoyed our fist visit to Cape Town and chose the Table Bay because of its proximity to the V&A Waterfront. We asked for and enjoyed the Mountain View room looking out at the the inner harbor and famous Table Mountain. Bountiful breakfast in lovely, light and bright dining room (included in our rate) was a highlight and started our... More

The staff here make you feel welcome and comfortable. The afternoon tea is a must. Location is right in the heart of the V&A and couldn't be better placed. Rooms are very comfortable and the beds and sheets are lovely. We had a great stay for my girlfriends 40th Birthday and she even got a cake delivered to the room....

We visit the table bay at least twice a year The location on the waterfront is great and if you upgrade to a luxury room with a balcony you feel part of the harbour with the mountain as a backdrop The standard rooms in my opinion is to small and not what you would expect as 5 star The service...
