This was, by far, the best adventure we had in Cape Town. We took a 1 day safari here and were able to see and interact with all of the Big 5 and more. Our bit of excitement was having our truck rammed by a Water Buffalo. Our guide Daniel was informative and fun. The stop in the middle for... More

My wife and I spent two nights at Aquila, during a typical Cape cold front. We missed a couple of game drives due to the e clement weather but did get to see the rehabilitation centre in the pouring rain. The guide was very knowledgable and had established an uncanny relationship with a fully grown male leopard. All the cats... More

We – a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 children) – stayed at Aquila in April for 1 night. The cottages: We had a family cottage, which was spacious and clean but with rather basic interior. The bathroom had a bath tub and an external shower; the latter may be nice in summer, but not in the cooler autumn... More

Ok so you are within a couple of miles of the main road through SA, but that makes absolutely no difference to the fantastic time you are about to have. We were welcomed with champagne and shown to our chalet. Had a quick dip in the pool before our afternoon safari. Our guide Daniel was fab, he was very knowledgeable... More

We had very high expectations from Aquila game reserve. On our easter break to south africa, we decided to take in a two night stay with aquila. We were family of five with children. Firstly, The food is very average. A few variations, the buffet layout was the same every meal. They had some tourists come in for a day... More

We booked to stay here with our 6 and 9 year old daughters and werent sure what to expect. When we arrived we were made to feel welcome and whilst time was planned with a fairly strict itinery, we had a fantastic guide on the game drive and had the same guide for all of the 4 game drives during... Visited this reserve in February with family from overseas and was very pleasantly surprised. 1stly the scenic drive these is magnificent ! Also loved arriving and being greeted with a big smile and a warm face cloth! As you walk through reception the facilities and very large blue swimming pool seem to be such a welcoming oasis! Breakfast was tasty... More

I booked this game reserve for the second half of our stay in the Western Cape. We stayed for 4 days. The grounds are beautiful, there's no denying that. The stars are breathtaking at night. Upon arrival, we were given sparkling wine. Having tasted some of the best sparkling wines and methode cap classique wines in South Africa, I found... More

Stayed here for the standard one night, afternoon and morning 'safari', buffet dinner and breakfast. Pretty much as other reviews have stated, good opportunity to see animals, but you're not out in the wild. For some reason our guide would not get very close to the Cape buffalo, which was too bad, they are magnificent animals. And the lonely female... More
