Whilst Aquila tends to attract a significant number of day trippers and as a resulting in dispatches into the game reserve by the truck load, we managed to enjoy the more individualistic pleasures the resort has to offer. We took advantage of private game drives and horse and quad bike rides into the reserve and had spectacular moments of witnessing... More

Very conveniently located to get to from Cape Town. A chaotic welcome on arrival with hundreds of people milling about. Aquila offers day outings as well as stay overs and my hope of an idyllic, peaceful bush weekend was completely shattered when we arrived and all these masses of people were milling about. Our accommodation was very comfortable and clean... More

I was a bit ŵorried after reading the reviews on here as we had booked 3 nights here with our three children however I wish I had not worried. The room we were in slept 8 and had three bedrooms, yes it was quite basic but the sleep quality is great once you get used to the noises! And anyway... More

I stayed at Aquila some time ago and recently took my daughters and mother in law. I had forgotten just how close it was to the main road and the traffic sounds at night were pretty bad. We had a family unit and the accommodations where pretty good but honestly that was about it unfortunately. At the end of the... More

Everyone should know this is not Kruger. That's not the issue. The issue is the grossly overpriced, supposedly 4 star resort. Our friends were having a special occasion for which we tried to organize something special...we were basically ignored and then told they can't help us and with no apology. The reservations office in Seapoint is a joke...miscommunication between the... More

I booked to come to Aquila for a surprise for my Mothers 50th Birthday, check-in was fine and the rooms were lovely (except for, when we asked for an ashtray for the cottage as there was none, the guy said he would tell housekeeping and they would bring one - nothing ever came). The game drive was nice and our... More

We stayed in one of the chalets and it was great. Beautiful view, enormous bathtub, outdoor shower for summer visit and a fireplace for cold visits. The buffet was much better than I expected. I don't tend to like buffets but was pleasantly surprised by the one offered. The game drives were nice but not great. I probably should have... More

This place is definitely not the Kruger experience, so don’t get your hopes up. It is however located conveniently close to Cape Town (~2 hours) to allow visitors a little taste of what Africa has to offer. We’ve definitely been to better private game parks, but we had a nice stay here regardless. I have to say that the setting... More

We were staying at the Waterfront in Cape Town and arranged a day trip to Aquila through reception. Unfortunately, it didn't start well, we were due to be picked-up at 6.15am but the transport didn't arrive until after 8am. We were stuck outside waiting for over TWO HOURS. When they finally arrived we didn't even get an apology. It took... More

It's all about the game drives in this excellent property not too far away from Cape Town. Half way through the 1st one we experience a heavy downpour that hit the resort hard - some guests had mini-floods in the room. The result was that the Manager of the reserve served free alcohol all night. That's right FREE! Needless to... More
