We were booked in over the weekend (05 & 06 July 2014). I was expecting a less than perfect experience due to it being out of season. Although the price was expensive being a "local" - what we received was totally worth every cent I spent. We were greeted by a staff member on arrival, with welcome drinks and a... More

5 friend & I stayed in Cape town for 5 nights in June 2014. We heard and read a lot of great things about Aquila Game Reserve and they're definitely true. We got picked up at our own Hostel, got transported all the way to Aquila and started off the day with a glass of sparkling wine and a great... More

I had been in Cape Town for a week for work and being able to experience all of the animals Africa is so famous for so close to Cape Town was fantastic. I definitely wouldn't have had time to go to one of the bigger or more well known parks so Aquila was the perfect answer! I absolutely loved the... More

I loved it! Food was amazing and friendly service. It's a wonderful place in the middle of nowhere. It has all the facilities, however the bedroom has the shower outdoors and at least in May it was not that warm. We stayed one night and we enjoyed of the safari, Great experience for someone that is not looking for something... More

For USD $220 it was not worth it. It is not a safari, nor did I expect it to be a safari. Yes I saw the big 5, but I have seen the big 5 in quality zoos. Hindsight 20 / 20 I would have spent my Sunday at Camps Bay. Live and learn. Wine country between Cape Town and... More

I had done a day trip ther before a coupl of years ago and this time we stayed the night. We had hut 15 which doesn't have a thached roof but has the largest bed I have ever seen. The food is spectacular though I suspect would get repetitive if you stayed more than a couple of nights. We had... More

We were a little surprised at our welcome - or lack of it, at Aquila. None of the promised sparkling wine, a cold and dismal room with no heating on a very cool afternoon and obviously stressed out reception staff. They kindly changed our room (eventually), we ate a very average lunch and went out on the 'safari'. This was... More

I admit I have been spoiled before by going on safari in national parks in South Africa and other African countries over the years. So coming to Aquila was a bit underwhelming for me on one side, and very overwhelming with regard to the busloads of day trip tourists. Nevertheless, if you stay the night you actually get to enjoy... More

We have never been on Safari and while this is certainly not the "real thing" this far exceeded our expectations! We drove from Cape Town and stayed one night. I would recommend this as the day trip is a long day out and if you stay the night it is much more relaxed and a lot quieter with less people.... More

We stayed in one of the Premier Luxury Chalets which were beautifully located on the hillside a short walk away from the main buildings. We actually booked for two nights but the timetable for each day doesn't change unless you want to switch (at extra cost) to a horse or quad bike safari - we were going to go on... More
