This was my second stay at Scalabrini, and now I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cape Town. Yes, the check-in process is weird, as is the system of keys and doors, but it is run as a sideline for a charity that does great work with refugees and homeless people, and it's good to know that by staying there I... Scalabrini guest house was great value accommodation for us in Cape Town. The initial check in process was a bit strange, since the guest house is part of the Scalabrini Centre - so you have to find the office on the first floor which is dedicated to the guest house. However, the room was very clean and spacious with great... More

I stayed here with my mother and sister 2 years ago, and I still rave to people about it. Scalabrini is ideally situated in the heart of Cape Town, so it's walking distance from most attractions. Inside, the guesthouse is in great condition (our room was spacious and clean). The kitchen area is also great, as it's equipped with a... More

On arrival at Scalabrini Guest House our party of five was greeted very warmly by all of the staff. The rooms were very clean and spacious with good WiFi (compared to other accommodation in the city). We found the location very handy for getting to and from the centre, although on a Sunday night there were no restaurants open in... More

We stayed at the guest house for four nights. Rooms were good and clean and the common kitchen area was quite big. The location during the day is very good because it is central at night it seemed a little bit off but we always felt safe. Parking in front of the building at night and weekends no problem during... My friends and I stayed here for the better part of a week (with a mid-week getaway to Stellenbosch). We found out about it from friends who have interned at Scalabrini, an NGO that offers a host of services to refugees in Capetown. The rooms in this vintage building are clean and comfortably furnished with the basics and the bathrooms... More

Stayed for 3 days in June 2012. The room was immaculately clean and spacious (very high ceiling). Staff were helpful. Kitchenette was just down the hall.It is in a downtown area, a bit away from other hotels/tourist destinations, but it is a short walk to the gardens. Very fast to get to the City Sightseeing bus line (those red double-decker... More

We stayed here in November for 3 nights and recommend this place highly. It is a high standard, very new and exceptionally clean 3 star guesthouse. The location is very good, right next to the Parliament and close to the city centre and bars / restaurants. There is a homely shared kitchen which was also spotlessly clean.
