Had an absolutely wonderful time here! Met some really lovely people, staff are super nice, clean and quite, short walk from centre and near some good restaurants. The place is clean, and has all the amenities. The only thing I will say is they have replaced the aircon with fans so the rooms can get a bit stuffy on a... More

Like my title says, I would rather call it a backpackers than a lodge. The truth is probably somewhere inbetween. All in all I can really recommend this place in Cape Town for the following reasons: + increadibly friendly and helpfull staff who really seem to like their job + amazing view on Table Mountain from their balcony + MyCiti... Out of all of the places I stayed at in South Africa, this was easily my favorite. A nice location, a good value, but the thing I liked most was how I was treated by the staff. Very kind and helpful people! They went out out of their way to help me. If I am ever in Cape Town again,... More

Definitely more of a backpackers than a BB. Probably too old for the place or too spoiled. Reckon 10 years back I would have raved about the place, so if you are ten years younger than me, go for it! If not, search B&B in Cape Town to avoid disappointment...

The hostel is within a good location of bars and restaurants. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lockers for your belongings. The TV room is spacious and you can use the computer for free. Free wifi aswell which you can use in your room. The free breakfast is toast, spreads and cereal with tea/coffee. Great little place. Nice warm... More

It was a very nice place for us. The bed was great some of the bunk beds for little storage space. Room are bright and clean. We did our dinner almost every night during our stay. The place is quiet and pleasant. Lounge on first floor is spacious and clean with plenty sofas. Resting area on the second floor has... More

I really enjoyed my stay here. Fairly small and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked and there were a couple of grocery stores within walking distance. Only thing to fix would have been the hand towels being changed more frequently. I'd stay again.

I'm currently staying at Amber Tree Lodge. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The showers are great. And the staff are friendly and helpful. Amber Tree is a great place to stay in Cape Town. Centrally located without all the hustle and bustle.

We stayed here during our trip through south africa for 5 nights. The location is prime as you are in walking distance to long street where the night life is pulsating. Also 3 supermarkets + a pharmacy are in walking distance. The only negative I would have is the showers that are not really hot and water pressure is improvable.... More
