We are a group of 6 "mature" travellers who stayed at Amber Tree Lodge for 4 nights, staying in a 6 bed dorm. The room was spacious & the bunks really comfortable, fantastic bathroom & kitchen facilities, breakfast included is a real bonus! We enjoyed the outside courtyard & the front views of Table Mountain are beautiful! All the staff... More

This place was a fantastic stay the room was clean, the bathrooms were clean and spacious, water was hot close to the main street for shops and restaurants. When it wasn't raining I had a perfect view of table mountain The staff were friendly and cheerful, always happy to help with any touristy questions, everything was well explained and it... More

Have to say Stephen and Wayne have been brilliant, helpful, and very welcoming, really enjoying our stay, its lovely and peaceful, it has a beautiful view of table mountain, no drunken backpackers, it has a family feel to it, young couples, singles, familys and friends all seem to really enjoy the place, complementary breakfast in the morning also, 10 minute... We stayed at Amber Tree Lodge for 5 days in September, after it was recommended by a friend in the UK. The staff were fantastic in helping up organise trips, transport around Cape Town (including the bus system which was a great money saver) and giving us advice on how to organise our days so that we could do as... Lovely place to stay in Cape Town. Friendly staff, free wifi, amazing view of table mountain from the hammock and benches on the balcony, a very well stocked kitchen, and a bus stop two minutes away. Everything a hostel should be.

Off the main road, but really close to all the restaurants and bars (walking distance) and with views of Table Mountain, I really recommend staying here. It's... More

This hostel is exactly what it claims to be. Located a few minutes from the city centre, easily accessible by foot, with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets along the way. The facilities are adequate and clean. Upstairs, the balcony offers lovely views of Table Mountain. A very knowledgeable host. During my stay, all the major car hire places were booked... More

Safe, comfortable, quiet and CHEAP! $16 USD a night for a dorm bed including breakfast. It was my first time in a "true" hostel and I'd do it again if all of them were as wonderful! Beautiful hammock on the second floor; nice courtyard in the back; shared kitchen; clean bathrooms; close (walking distance) to many of Cape Town's best... More

This hostel is a gorgeous, clean, friendly place located in central Cape Town just around the corner from Long St and across the street from a great bar (Rafiki's). There are tons of restaurants, shops and bars nearby. Lion's Head and Table Mountain are also within walking distance. We didn't meet the owner but Wayne was really friendly and gave... More
