I had an amazing time in Capetown but my Hostel 'capetown backpackers' was very bad! It is dirty, unhygenic and everything needs to get renovated. On The webside they tell you that they have a kitchen. But in real they dont have a cooker!!!! Only 2 plates which get heated with a plug!!!!!! We wanted to cook pasta but the... More

Coming to Capetown for the first time, Capetown Backpackers gave me a welcoming day of my life. The staff are amazing, friendly and really helfpul. The things i planned to do were the things i did. Here is the list of my activities that they booked for me; Day1: I did the Table Mountains top view and i went to... More

Stayed at this hostel for 4 nights while in Cape Town and fully enjoyed it. Rooms are a bit drafty but you're provided with blankets and pillows. Plugins abound, and international converters are provided which is nice for those in need. Wifi is a bit sketchy...don't expect to be sending pictures home, but at least they have it! Showers are... I stayed there in mid august and must confess the staff was friendly and always keen to help. The location was perfect right in the middle of action and close to Kloof street (with all nice eating joints) and Long street. This place is recommended.

Undertechnologized: Extremely slow WiFi, excruciatingly slow, almost unuseable in rooms, not much better in public spaces. Connections routinely drop, VOIP calls were impossible, half the time I could not even open a simple email using just basic HTML. Routinely bumped off the WiFI every couple hours, and of course this can occur, say while you’re buying airline tickets. Continuous password... More

I stayed 3 days and I loved the location since I could walk anywhere but the beds were super squeaky and one night there were a bunch of loud screaming girls outside. You'll be able to hear cars drive by and if you're a light sleeper, it'll be an issue. I'm easy going so it was all fine but wifi... More

The hostel is modern and clean, and the staff are very friendly. However, noise travels very easily throughout the place. In the 5 days that we stayed there I didn't manage to get a single good nights sleep due the parties which carried on in the kitchen and communal areas until very late in the morning (the party only finished... I stayed here for 4 nights, and it is the nicest hostel, situated only a 2 minute walk from long street! Absolutely perfect for getting around town, with lovely staff! A friend and I got in at 3 in the morning and the one member of staff offered to make us a sandwich and some tea - we didn't even... More

I transferred here from Amber Tree Lodge for a few days at the end of my stay in Cape Town. When I entered to store my bags in the luggage room in the basement, I could feel that the Cape Town Backpackers (CTB) feel was very different from the clean, quiet, and relaxed environment of Amber Tree Lodge. CTB is... More
