We stayed at the hotel for two nights and was so impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff. The decor is modern and classy. The rooms were so comfortable and large. Found the shower very small. Close to Tygervalley shopping centre, no road traffic noise and overall very happy experience. Breakfast was very good and offered various choices.

Visited their restaurant Friday 16 January for dinner. Upon arrival we were surprised that the main restaurant was closed and were directed to a lounge type make-shift restaurant. We ordered Pizza as the pizza menu looked great. Unfortunately when the pizza arrived it was very disappointing. The meat toppings were not fresh and seemed pre cooked, and some of the... More

This hotel differs from the normal Protea Hotel. The rooms are large and differently decorated than most similar hotels. The breakfast buffet is top class and it is probably the best hotel in Durbanville ideally located for people visiting the Tygervalley district. The only real shortfall was the shower that didn't meet expectations. It is located next to a vineyard... More

My family and I stayed for 3 nights from the 3rd to the 6th of December. The check-in was delayed by an hour and a half due to the room not being ready. I thought since I am a Prokard member and paid fully in advance for the stay, they could have called me with that info. The room decor... More

Stayed for two nights on a business trip in November. Lovely location in relation to the wine lands but a good 45 minute drive to the waterfront. Comfortable rooms designed like suites with a pleasant swimming pool area and a good spread for breakfast. Good views and a landscaped garden. Staff were friendly. Complimentary Internet access.

Very clean facilities situated in a safe, quiet suburb. Landscaping is excellent with an overall peaceful atmosphere. Polite and helpful staff, complementary internet in rooms and shuttle to shopping centres around the hotel. Great hiking tract short distance from hotel. The food is great. I will return to this hotel anytime.

Dear Benedicta C Thank you for the awesome review, much appreciated. They are also available as a semi self-catering unit with off course all the facilities and services of a hotel.... More

We spent a week at this hotel in the December holidays. It is conveniently located for people who are not beach-crazy and want easy access to the routes to the wine lands. Service is friendly though breakfast serving staff could be a little more on-the-ball. Breakfast itself is ample with some variation each morning. The rooms are lovely, modern and... More

Everything was perfect from the friendly staff to the awesome room. The pizza chef made the best pizza that I've ever had. The buffet breakfast was awesome. Overall I would give it 11 out of 10. We will definitely recommend to others. ( The only thing that could've been different is the curtains. We would recommend block out curtains because... More

Protea Durbanville is in the Northern Suburbs close to Tygervalley shopping center and some of the Durbanville Hills Wine Farms. The apartment style room (231) has everything needed for a short stay and you can also cook yourself if needed as they have a hot plate in the room although mine was covered. The disappointing things about the room are... More

Up to October 2014 using the conference fasicilities for attending business meetings twice a month and church services once a week and an additional meeting once a month, had been a pleasure. The last month has been a disaster. What has changed? Apparently the bi-monthly meetings, which bring between 100 and 200 people to the hotel is too much trouble... More
