Conveniently located in the Durbanville Hills vineyards, this hotel is a great place to break away for a business breakfast or lunch. It's a new and modern hotel, but the quietness of being away from the traffic and huddle and bustle add to the general feeling of well-being when in the hotel. The food is generally pretty good. The service... More

As much as I used to recommend and enjoyed to visit this place, so much was I disappointed tonight. The service was basically non existant and we sat for a long time without anybody attending to us. We eventually ordered large pizzas, but when it arrived it was the size of the regular medium pizza. This used to be a... More

Loved the location of the hotel. Nice and relaxed area of Cape Town. Rooms are "outside" so had to walk in the rain to get to the room. Nice big and spacious loft. Will be perfect for holiday accommodation. Big shower, but with low water pressure. Would have liked the TV to be in the bedroom. Breakfast was good enough... More

We had two stays here recently, while visiting family in Cape Town. This is a comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff stood out as a highlight. Rooms are adequately sized, and there are both UK and South Africa adapter plugs in the rooms. The beds are comfortable, and we enjoyed the courtyard patio... More

Cosy and intimate conference facilities were enjoyed last Friday afternoon, with breathtaking views overlooking the vineyards. It immediately created a relaxed ambience for overworked teachers, principals, parents and staff who attended the function. Nothing bland about this conference room at all!!! The only thing I can criticise this hotel for is the fact that they have another hotel very close by with a similar name, This is Protea Hotel Durbanville - Tyger Valley the other is Protean Hotel Tyger Valley, so at first I turned up at the wrong hotel, but the reception staff quickly realised the error and pointed the... I enjoyed my stay here for 1 night on business. Rooms were decent - even good. I was also given a free wifi voucher which was unusual for South Africa. Food was excellent as were the cappucinos. I would recommend staying here.

We were received very friendly. The starter was a ceasar salad, with anchovies, very tasty. the main course was lamb tjops with a good fat rind. Served up with veggies and small rice tower and potato slices. I did not eat the terimasu pudding as I try to cut down on the carbs, but it looked good. The wine complimented... More
