The mountainous terrain of the park make it one of the most beautiful of the wonderful array of game reserves in the SANParks stable. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The chalets and camping facilities are more than acceptable and the general areas were clean and neat throughout. The lovely shop and the restaurant have been outsourced... More

The large self-catering units are very well appointed, comfortable and with great views. However wild life was rather sparse. What were well worthwhile were the Information Center and the Fossil Trail and the drive up the pass. With nice accommodation in Beaufort West being rather sparse, this is a very good alternative as it is so close to the town.... More

Our family (dad, mom and two young boys) stayed over at the Karoo National Park for two nights while on our way to Cape Town from Pretoria. What a great experience! All the beauty of the Karoo is right there to be enjoyed from your stoep. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Breakfast is included in the daily rate and... More

The scenery is great, the accomodation is immaculate with perfect views. The game drives are a bit limited unless you have a 4 wd and there is not a lot of game but the "almost quagga" zebra are worth seeing and a night drive can be interesting because many of the animals are nocturnal to avoid the heat.

We visit the Karoo National Park at least once a year. This time we decided to include a couple of nights at the remote little Afsaal shepherds cottage. LOCATION: In the bush on a 4x4 route some 35 or so kilometers from the rest camp. Tyres must be deflated to around 1.7 for the rough stony terrain. The little cottage... More

After we booked four days in Karoo National Park we thought it will be too long. But that wasn't the case at all. We enjoyed in our chalet, which was perfectly equipped, as well as on our search for animals. Not just Armand, our guide, also the guys in the restaurant were more than polite and helpfull. Two reasons why... More

unlike some more crowded parks Karoo NP is a very quiet, isolated piece of nature. The equipment of the chalets is basic but nothing essentials is missing. We had some very interesting guided walks and game drives. Our guide Gregory Fish was super. You won't see the big five in Karoo but we appreciated a park where all the wildlife... More

Myself and my parents stayed at this park on our way from Cape Town to Hopetown. The chalets are beautiful with incredible views. They are equipped with everything you could possibly need to cater for yourself. Otherwise the restaurant has great food and great service. We had dinner and breakfast and were impressed on both occasions. In the morning before... More

Spent two night in the Karoo National Park in December, was a fantastic way to start our holiday. The beauty and quietness of the Karoo makes one forget about the hustle and bustle of the city and one feels that you are on holiday. Accommodation was good but unfortunately when getting back from a game drive we found our unit... More
