Just leave it to Marnie and Russell and their outstanding companions at 57 ! One of the most beautiful views in Cape Town with a well rounded menu and excellent wine list! (Graham Beck Brut, in a chilled glass by the pool at 530pm :) A great place to get away. You'll need a car to get around (as with... More

I had a fantastic time here, with everything I needed and in a nice relaxed and friendly environment. The guesthouse is just beautiful and the views from it are breathtaking from Bantry Bay. It was my first time in Cape Town and Marnie and Russell helped me with where to go and what to do. The food was delicious as... More

This place is beautiful with breathtaking views overlooking Bantry Bay. It is nicely located between the V&A Waterfront in one direction and Camps Bay in the other (just a 10 minute taxi to either). It's in a residential area, up a steep hill, so taxi use is essential. It's a gorgeous residential property, converted into a boutique guest house, with... More

It was an absolute pleasure having you both at 52 for such a long time, you really became part of the furniture. I hope that is won't be too long until we see you again. Kind Regards, Marnie, Russell & the Team More

If you're expecting the slick professional service normally offered by a top hotel, you'll be disappointed. It's not a hotel. It's a guest house, albeit a very luxurious one. Nestling on the slopes of Lion's Head, you'll rub shoulders with the super-rich who can afford this exclusive neighbourhood. It does have a home from home feel which is enhanced by... More

Dear Jill, Thank you for taking the time to write us such an extensive review. I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay with us at 52 & am deeply disappointed to hear that the high standards I set are not kept up in my absence. It's lucky I am only off one day a week & am a complete workaholic, that... More

We did it again! Round about one year later we visited DeWet 52 again and I have to admit it was even better than the first time. This time we were three adults so we booked the suite comprising two bedrooms and a separate living room. All in all it was extraordinary, we enjoined it from the first minute to... More

You are too kind, what a wonderful review. I'm so pleased you noticed our changes, we try very hard to ensure that every visit to 52 is as special as the last, if not even more so. As always, it was a pleasure & I hope we will see you again next year. Kindest Regards, Marnie & the 52 Team More

This is my second review of De Wet which has now become our default hotel when we are in CPT; it's just a great place to stay as you will see from my previous review. On this occasion we stayed there on the last night of our Garden Route holiday, having particularly planned it PE to CPT in order to... More

We chose a somewhat unusual month to stay in Cape Town – July – a date determined not by the weather, but to coincide with visiting our son and daughter-in-law, who were working there and staying in Camps Bay. Having chosen an out of the ordinary time, in 52 De Wet we certainly chose an out of the ordinary hotel;... More

You are absolutely right, July is a slightly unusual time of year to visit but can often be the best. If you are lucky the weather can be fantastic with warm days and blue skies. The city relaxes a little with the main bulk of tourists no longer clogging up the restaurants and attractions. Fantastic deals can be found for... More

We loved 52 DeWett. It was perfect. Very nice contemporary rooms. Large Tubs in some rooms and separate tile showers. Very clean. Incredible view. Great breakfast with really good coffee. Sunset wine and a short walk to view the sunset overlooking Clifton Beach. Russell and Marnie were so nice. We arrived late in the evening, they made is a nice... More

What a fantastic surprise tucked away high on the hill above beautiful Bantry Bay. Just 8 rooms, ensuring a highly personalised service and an intimate atmosphere. We were fortunate to have been assigned Room # 4, which had a spectacularly large veranda area, and an even more spectacular view of the ocean. Service was excellent, and the staff all deserve... I lived everything about my stay at 52 De Wet. The staff was exceptionally sweet and helpful with restaurant reservations and recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and provided excellent variety of continental and hot options. They would always offer us complimentary sundowner drinks in the afternoon as were enjoying the sunset in the pool. I would gladly go again.
