This is a wonderful wonderful resort and definitely the best in the park; we got moved from Kwa Maritine because of the fire at that lodge and having gone over there to have a look , this one is much much nicer. Superb comfortable rooms, stunning pool and landscaping (noisy frogs though - get a room at the top level... more

Spent two days at Bakubung at the end of a two week stay in South Africa. The room was pretty nice, unfortunately the bath tub was a little scary. Bring shower shoes and you'll be fine. The food was pretty good (don't miss the ribs) and plentiful. The lodge seemed to be full of kids during my stay, esp. around... more

We have stayed at Bakubung htree times this year, with various overseas guests. Usually, things are fine but last weekend there was no water from midnight Friday till we left Sunday morning! What was annoying was that management gave us two different and conflicting reasons for the problem making us wonder whether they knew there was going to be a... more

We tried to book accommodation at Bakubang in July for our trip in November and only managed to get one night. So my first tip is to book well in advance. The hotel is great, neat, clean, well set-up and right at the doorstep to the National Park. It is close to Sun City (20 minutes drive) and the hotel... more

It was our first visit to South Africa and my husband insisted that we went on a Safari. I really wasn't that keen, but it is something that I would not have missed for the world. Our room at the lodge was excellent, very roomy, extremely comfortable beds, well equipped bathroom, Satellite TV and fridge in our room. I was... more

My Parents first fell in love with this area of South Africa in 2001, they bought time share there and we have returned every year since. The Park itself is absolutely amazing i cant get enough of the wildlife, you can spend hours driving through the massive extince volcano which is now pilanesberg park. The resort itself is surrounded by... more

We stayed for 3 nights as a base to do our safaris from as recommended by South African friends. The set up was lovely and the hotel rooms very spacious however if we were returning I think i'd ask for a room which looked out over reserve as ours looked onto the pool - perhaps more suitable for a family!... more

We had a thoroughly good time at Bakubung. While it has a somewhat resorty timeshare feel, the facilities are solid 4-star and the dining quite nice. It's a wonderful place to relax with minimal pressure. Built in a U around an arm of the Pilanesberg park, there was wildlife just across the sturdy electrified game fence outside our patio. The... more

Booked bakabung via [-----] (great website & people). Nice enough game lodge. Fair prices & rooms are comfortable, have satellite TV to keep the kids entertained. Small but nice play-ground for the kids, including giant chess & small trampoline. Facilities are ok - Internet & swimming pool as well as decent restaurant. Only very slight negative was the place is... more

We stayed at Bakubung Game Lodge in May of 2006. The rooms were decorated in an African decor and quite lovely. It felt very comfortable and made us feel like we were at home. The staff was quite friendly, the food choices were excellent. The lodge is close to Sun City which has lots to offer but can be quite... more
