i took my 3 kids for s short get away for 1 night. The park is brilliant, Bagatla camp a real disappointment. At a stretch I may have felt more comfortable paying for 1 week what we paid for 1 night!! The resort is totally overpriced and certainly not worth while at all. The paint was peeling in the bathroom... more

We stayed in a chalet here and I think we paid a lot of money to stay here and we found the accomodation was old, smelly and dirty. The whole resort (a glorified camp site) was run down and needs a good overhaul. We paid about £120 per night which I think is a total rip-off even by british standards... more

I've been to Bakgatla twice and it is a great place to go with family and friends. The game reserve itself is stunning and right on Bakgatlas door step, the gate is literally a two minute drive. The food and drink is quite cheap in Bakgatla. It has a big swimming pool with bbq area. Very nice. The food is... more

we stayed here as part of our honeymoon. It was so close to the entrance of pilanesberg national park. For going on safari it was ideal, we had our own little brick built chalet with its own bar-b-Q, If your looking for 5 star plush accommodation then this park isn't for you, If your serious about going on safari and... more

Read other reviews before I went so when we arrived on Sept 11 the first thing I did was make sure we had hot water. We stayed in Chalet #50 for 2 nights. Water worked fine until we got back from dinner at the restaurant (which was being renovated so it was set up in a big white tent) and... more

My wife and I vissited this eshtablishment for the easter weekend. We normally look for the "Safiri tent style" accomodation and did the same at this establishment. Although it was more expensive than most other of these types of accomodation we still booked as the Pilansberg is a reputable area. Bakgatla Executive Safari Tents are way below standard. On arrival... more

Probably the best value for accommodation in South Africa in a parks featuring the big 5. (lion, rhino, elephant, leopart, buffalo). Not really fancy looking, but clean, quite spacious, well equipped. We had DBB accommodation at R390pp (we were three adults). The food was excellent. more

My fiance and I just returned from our trip to Africa where we stayed two nights at the Golden Leopard Bakgatla camp in one of the Executive Safari Tents. The tents are amazing. Four of us were more than comfortable in the tent. It was like something out of a Harry Potter novel. You would never expect such luxury in... more

Very adequate, though not luxury chalet accommodation, excellent and plentiful food, super, relaxed atmosphere and lovely welcoming staff. No 'airs and graces' here, but a fine base from which to see Africa's 'Big Five' and more. One of the most attractive, massive outdoor swimming pools I have seen. Overall, excellent value for money, particularly when compared with other SA Game... more

good accommodation in fantastic location at sensible prices. beware of 'dinner bed and breakfast' option. R100 extra to get R100 to spend on food in restaurant. eating R100 of food is a challenge. much better to pay for what you want but check that it is a la carte when you stay - some nights are a R100 buffet!!!! shop... more
