You arrive by shaking hands and leave giving hugs. This is such a small intimate lodge it really adds to the appeal. Other guests had birthdays and the kitchen made a cake (with candles) for each on different nights. The field guides were knowledgeable and accommodating. Shawn and Jaques really are very good and make you feel welcome and special.... More

A perfect and romantic getaway!! Cannot fault one thing... except one night is just simply not long enough. The food and accommodation was top class and would definitely go back. We had a Dinner on our patio and the chef Johnny came to welcome us and Elvis's service was good! The booing through Legacy Hotels was also fantastic as they... More

A truly wonderful 2 night stay at Tshukudu, with 4 game drives undertaken with exceptional knowledge and wildlife experience by Shawn. THE lodge is well worth the 132 steps up to heaven, with endless views and African rusttic luxury abound. The early rise for the morning drive is a challenge, but so worth the effort as we experinced the big... More

FABULOUS experience from beginning to end. 4 game drives resulted in seeing the Big 5 plus so much more. Our guide Shawn had excellent knowledge of the reserve & animals so we now have a better understanding of nature at its best. The lodge was a haven of peace, luxury & fabulous food. With only 6 lodges you were able... More

Cant understand the negative reviews-This place was awesome- fab location and as high up wonderful views over waterhole. The lodges were lovely with private balconies. The game drives were very good with good knowledgable guide and stopped at any interesting sightings-plenty of time to watch animals. The food was lovely and staff very attentive. As it was a small lodge it felt very unique.There... ...this was my first visit, but it wasn't. After staying at the Tshukudu Bush Lodge in 2007 and 2010, I had high expectations for my recent visit (January 2015). I was staying 3 days during each of those visits (don't go less if you go). The Pilansberg game reserve, although much smaller than Krueger, is a really beautiful park, with... More

Thought I should warn anyone thinking of booking this safari lodge between May and July 2015 don't bother it is closed for refurbishment. I had booked to stay two nights at the end of May. Unfortunately the management didn't think to notify me and only confirmed when I queried having read a report elsewhere. They said they had transferred my... More

Positive: wonderful views, charming rooms Negative: the food was the worst I have had in South Africa. I do not mean to say the food was terrible - a more accurate description would be edible. We were all surprised at such lackluster food for dinner and breakfast. Oh, lunch was virtually nothing, just some sad sandwiches, cold cuts and fruit,... More

This is a wonderful place of pure luxury. You are looked after from the moment you check in till the time you sadly have to leave. The two game drive a day are fantastic, the early morning can be a struggle but then the magic of seeing the animals wake as the dawn breaks is just enchanting. Similarly the afternoon... More

Perfect 4 night stay before Christmas. The food is out of this world, staff very attentive and the chalets are nice and well appointed. Loved the attention to detail. Game drives were very nice and varied. We did a walking safari which was very special. Will definitely go again!
