We stayed here during our vacation trip and we really enjoyed. The safari tour was awesome as we could spot most of the animals in wild life. The room itself is so cossy and well decorated. Restaurant is excellent with various delicasy and good blend of various menus. It's an excellent trip.

We hired two chalets which were pretty good value and well equipped. The main restaurant was a little disappointing but not awful. We may have been unfortunate with the game viewing but on our experiences I would always prefer madikwe.

We stayed in the time share chalets at Bakubung in July. We found them to be clean and well furnished, although the living area was a bit small. Bakubung is a beautiful lodge situated right at a waterhole. At night we sighted African Civet at the waterhole and a herd of elephants came to the lower waterhole one afternoon -... More

One of the real highlights of our South Africa trip, the stay and the safari organized by "the people of the Hippo" was excellent. Rooms are classical high-ceiling , thatched with all amenities ( like free Wi-Fi). Breakfast spread was amazing with live counters for eggs and pancakes. Safari guides were well informed and friendly and we managed to see... More

“People of the Hippo”, or Bakubung is set in the crater of an extinct volcano in the Pilanesberg National Park. This “malaria-free” park offers the perfect family get-away. We combined our visit to Pilanesberg by staying at the Bakubung Lodge for a couple of nights and then moved 10 minutes down the road to The Palace of the Lost City... More

Bakubung is for good reason our favorite wildlife resort/lodge! Coming back to this special place really is great! Its home away from home- the staff are friendly ,helpfull and proffesional! The rooms are very neat, with 2 double beds in each room - more than enough space!!! We had ground floor rooms ( perfect for children) with sliding doors leading... More

Bakubung Bush Lodge is situated in Pilanesberg National Park, not far from Johannesburg. It’s surrounded by beautiful scenery and visited frequently by animals at the waterhole located within the lodge. When we stayed at Bakubung Bush Lodge, it was our first safari in South Africa. We spent 5 nights here and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the hotel... More

This is an amazingly well-maintained lodge. Truly first-class, it leaves no stone unturned to please its customers and leave a mark in our minds. Luxurious and elaborate, the rooms are quite huge. We were living in the rooms (and not in the cottages) and these rooms are adequately equipped with TVs and modern toilets. The balconies open to an open... More
