Accommodation: the room was well equipped but rather crammed as a result of the two double beds. Don't expect too much privacy - walls are thin and conversations travel. We stayed on the ground floor but I would suggest first floor for privacy if you have to do the hotel. Timeshare units would be much better. Restaurant: we had no... More

1. The bush braai was the highlight (only on Saturday night). Awesome experience overall. However, the food got over and we were told 'sorry no more food'. No empathy nor trying to get more nor make arrangements at the hotel restaurant or arranging for some eats. We went hungry for food but full with the experience. 2. The staff at... More

The hotel rooms are very luxurious with nice touches and a huge bath. The buffet dinner was delicious. The service was good except for one thing. We had booked for the boma bush braai which was cancelled and we were not informed until we reported to the reception for pickup. We just ended up having the buffet dinner. We went... More

Having visited various reserves down the years we are just returned from Bakubung following a long weekend there. In terms of proximity to the game (elephant's by the fence, 10m from the house!) and layout it is the best I've visited in SA. We stayed in chalet 231, all the 200s are excellent with afternoon sun. Inside its good overall,... More

With very little effort Bakubung could be a 5-star experience, already having great rooms and access to safari experiences. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days and found it a mixed experience. The overwhelming problem is service, which becomes apparent immediately from welcome and check-in: the front desk is brutal. Most (not all, but almost all) of the staff are... More

BakuBung Bush Lodge is right at the pilanesberg national park. It is very close to sun city. The lodge itself has a huge property and one can walk around it or laze in swimming pool if you are not going for jungle ride. There was morning and an evening safari. we did both and were glad as we saw different... More

Our family of 5 (3 adults and 2 children) stayed in one of the timeshare chalets in July. I would recommend Bakubung to anyone. Checking in was a bit slower that expected. Due to unforseen circumstances we arrived a lot earlier than expected. Even though they knew we were there waiting, we were the last ones to be able to... More

We stayed here during our vacation trip and we really enjoyed. The safari tour was awesome as we could spot most of the animals in wild life. The room itself is so cossy and well decorated. Restaurant is excellent with various delicasy and good blend of various menus. It's an excellent trip.

We hired two chalets which were pretty good value and well equipped. The main restaurant was a little disappointing but not awful. We may have been unfortunate with the game viewing but on our experiences I would always prefer madikwe.

We stayed in the time share chalets at Bakubung in July. We found them to be clean and well furnished, although the living area was a bit small. Bakubung is a beautiful lodge situated right at a waterhole. At night we sighted African Civet at the waterhole and a herd of elephants came to the lower waterhole one afternoon -... More
