It is always a superb to experience a surprise in between a business program : a visit to the Black Rhino Reserve at Pilanesberg National Park near Sun City RSA. Just a few hours away from Johannesburg, afternoon arrival and a very warm welcome by the staff. Take a cup of tea or coffee in the very nice lodge, refreshing... More

We had an incredible stay here in November 2014. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional, who paid attention to detail. The setting of the lodge and the chalets themselves - superb. A nice touch is the (secluded) outdoor showers. The highlight for us was the game drives - we didn't tire of them. Each was unique (we also... More

My Wife and I together with my Cousin and her husband from Scotland stayed with you for 3 days and 3 nights in March. I am writing to thank you for looking after us so well, and to say it was a most wonderful experience. Our thanks especially to Jacome' and to Warwick our Game Ranger, but it would be... More

The Lodge is staffed by incredibly friendly, willing to help people whose main goal is to make your bush experience first rate. The facilities are awesome with a home away from home feel. The pool and deck looks out over a water hole that regularly sees animals. The game drives are private and the rooms are exceptionally comfortable with beautiful... More

We had a fantastic 2 night stay here and it was faultless. Staff - polite, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much. Warwick our guide on the game drives was brilliant, very knowledgeable and fun. Accommodation - beautifully presented, clean villas with indoor and outdoor showers. The little touches such as turn down service added to an already comfortable experience.... More

Just returned from 2 nights stay here - everything from the lodge to the service to the food and wine, the pool and the game drives were excellent. Special mention to Warwick who took us on four very different game drives, seeing all manner of animals and sights - and for being very warm, funny and knowledgeable. An incredible experience... We visited Pilanesberg Reserve before but this time stayed in the neighbouring Black Rhino Reserve (part of Pilanesberg) in the small Pilanesberg Private Lodge (max 10 guests). A very quiet logde with good food, nice cabins and drives with experienced Warwick, Did e3xcellent walking safari with co-owner Jeandre. Quite different from the much more hectic big lodges in the Pilanesberg... More

With a 3-year-old and a 3 month-old we wanted an easygoing experience. A short drive from Pretoria and Joberg, this lodge fit the bill. Pleasant manager and excellent guide (husband of the manager), decent accommodation, fairly decent food... everyone in our group was satisfied with the experience. We saw a variety of animals and went on a good two-hour safari... More

We chose Pilanesberg Private Lodge to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday, having not visited the Pilanesberg for many years. The personal attention from Deon, Jacome, Warwick and Jeandre was fantastic and we felt like royalty for the weekend. We were so privileged to view a lion kill as well as another 3 of the big 5 during our game drives.... More

Everything was excellent. Service, food, accommodation game viewing, hospitality and wilderness walks, Fellow guests were all pleasant and sensitive to the people around them and really interrested in nature. Liked the smaller, more intimate and friendly atmosphere. This lodge has everything larger lodges have but with a special personal touch. We stayed two days and saw some great game. The... More
