We visited the Black Rhino Game after a few days in Cape Town. While it was a long drive to the lodge the ride was well worth it. We were warmly greeted by the staff who immediately handled our luggage and got us prepared for our first game drive. Within minutes we encountered rhinos and the sightings just kept coming.... My 4 year old son and I visited Black Rhino Game Lodge in December 2014. We were welcomed into the Lodge by the staff with 'open arms'. The accommodation is incredible along with the food :) Philip, our allocated game ranger took us on child friendly game drives. Till this day my son still speaks of Philip. The kindness, tolerance... We had a wonderful stay at Black Rhino, after a sadly terrible and very scary start to our South African holiday. The staff were so friendly and our two boys instantly made friends with everyone there. We were welcomed to the lodge at lunch time and sat down to a great lunch before checking in to our huge and very... More

Overall our experience at Black Rhino was a good one. This was the first safari experience for our adult children. We are happy. Our guide Ruaan was excellent. We easily saw 4 but missed the elusive leopard in our two days. He was a great spotter, driver, and guide. We stayed at the lodge for two days; we had two... More

We booked a weekend trip to Rhino Lodge as a "babymoon". Our last luxury trip before our baby arrived. We were looking for something small, intimate and with a little luxury. Many of the lodges in the area are 90+ rooms and very "resort-like" which is not what we wanted. Black Rhino was all that we were looking for and... More

My only regret...not staying long enough. As soon as we arrived, we were made at ease, at home and comfortable by staff and management. I was unsure of what to expect for my first safari but needs and expectations were beyond met! The food was immaculate and wonderful while staff was always attentive and courteous. For the first time in... More

I noticed a lot of the negative reviews came from people who live in S. Africa who had been on safari or stayed in lodges before. We stayed as part of a Cape Town/Safari group tour, and our accommodations were already predetermined. This was my first time in S. Africa, and I have no basis for comparison. I heard that... More

A few things stood out to me about the lodge: the knowledgeable drivers, the large rooms and the great lounge area facing a watering hole (that was visited by 4 lots of animals in the 3 days we were there). The experience could have been better if the wi-Fi connection was better and if it extended to the rooms to... More

This was a family trip, around 19 of us. The lodge is beautiful, the rooms are massive. Although some rooms are clearly meant for couples sharing, with its open concept bathrooms, so makes it a bit awkward when a grandma and granddaughter are sharing a room! All we had to do each day, was turn up on time, and let... More
