Our chalet was absolutely out of this world - what a treat! We loved the stairs but if you have toddlers or are elderly then this accommodation is definitely not for you as you cannot get from the landing to anywhere else in the chalet without using stairs. Lights for Africa in every nook and cranny so you can choose... More

The resort is a pleasant short break venue, within 3 to 4 hours from Johannesburg and Pretoria, if you are using it as a base to explore the environment and venture day trips into the Kruger National Park, it could be a venue for a longer period. Although the chalets are neat and clean it they are needing some TLC.

August is still a relatively cold month in SA so we were looking forward to a break in the warmth of the Mpumalanga lowveld. And what a lovely weekend it was. Weather was excellent although a little chilly at night which made sitting around the fireplace so cosy. Reception staff esp Michael should be applauded for friendliness and efficiency. Chalets... Lovely resort, beautiful grounds, chalets clean and well maintained but if you worry about getting up and down stairs you will struggle with the lay-out of them as the house is on many levels. Friendly staff, they have a small shop which we found rarely open with not much stock so make sure you have everything you need with you, a big... More

Dear Clare Thank-you for your feedback regarding your stay. Lately there have been problems with our closest entrance into Kruger, with road works and sometimes protests. This is why we advise the longer route as it is much safer for our guests. Otherwise I am delighted you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.... More

Lovely resort. Comfortable, clean, neat chalets. Been travelling to the Lowveld regularly for the past 15 years and this is probably one of the best places I have stayed in. Loved it and will come again. BUT... Weekend was ruined witnessing one of the staff (or their family ) shooting the monkeys with a pellet gun.

Dear Norm Thank-you for your feedback regarding your stay. I am delighted you enjoyed the Resort. Unfortunately we were not aware of any of the staff members shooting monkeys, or had anything reported. This will be the first incident of that kind. If you could perhaps provide more information we can take it further. We look forward to welcoming you... More

It's a small resort with about 30-35 stone chalets situated by a dam. The excess road to the resort is very poor, and the facilities are quite limited: no internet access (only at Reception), coffee machine, washing machine or dishwasher (although you will get maid service every day). I assume the chalets are good during the hot summer but they... More

Dear Zsuzsa Thank-you for your feedback regarding your stay. We are aware that the access road can be a problem. Currently we are in the process of trying to sort that issue out, due to the fact that it is a provincial road. We do hope that it happens soon. Yes I do agree that it is quite cold during... More

We come here regularly as a family. There is plenty to do for the kids and a safe environment to relax and unwind. The chalets all have a wonderful view over the lake and are cleaned daily. There are no power boats so apart from a splash of a paddle boat or some geese it is totally peaceful.

Pine Lake Resort was beautiful, but also offered proximity to the panorama drive and access to Kruger National Park. The blend of both made an excellent vacation. Only unexpected drawback was spotty internet service that was only at the reception area.
