Umsisi House is an experience in itself, not just somewhere to stay! Paddy & Amanda are characterful hosts that made our stay exceptional. The house is immaculate, spacious and luxurious. Paddy's cooking is on another level, better than most upmarket restaurants, using fresh and home grown herbs and vegetables. We came out of Kruger and enjoyed 2 nights to relax... More

Our second visit to South Africa included an awesome 3 night stay at UmSisi House . From the first moment of our arrival to our sad departure Amanda and Paddy made us feel at home. The house was perfect for our group of 6 which included 2 small children who were entertained by Bella and Saxon, the friendly dogs. Our... More

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at UmSisi House for about 6 days over a year ago. The accommodation was excellent and the special food wintery-warm and delicious. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated - feels like high-end luxury suites. The terrace and gardens were magnificent and made breakfast times all the more enjoyable just to... More

We had the pleasure of spending a long weekend at umSisi house a few weeks ago. It was an idyllic getaway - small children and grandparents included. Paddy and Amanda have created a stunning space both indoor and out. The food was excellent, and breakfast and sunset on the veranda were the perfect bookends for our days.

Wonderful stay at umSisi house. Paddy and Amanda were accommodating and very welcoming. The room was beautifully decorated and a highlight was bathing with a view of the wildlife basking on the rocks. Kruger park was a short drive away and plenty to explore in the surrounding areas. The food was exactly what was needed after a day of adventuring.... More

My mother and I travelled to Umsisi House for a 4 day mini break from London. It was perfect. My mother lived in Zimbabwe for 3 years and we have both travelled extensively around Southern Africa (20+ trips) - but we were thrilled to explore rural Mpumalanga and the stunning scenery around Umsisi House. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in 60 hectares of pristine bush, within the Jock of the Bushveld Conservancy, umSisi House is strategically located in the Peebles Valley between the town of White River and the Numbi Gate entrance to the southern Kruger Park (15 minutes away). We offer a personal service that only a very small, privately owned and managed, five-star, luxury country house can provide. umSisi House is the perfect destination for groups of friends and family wishing to visit South Africa’s Kruger Lowveld region, the Panorama Route and enjoy the many adventure activities available in the immediate area. The house only caters for private groups (between 4 and 10 people) on either (a) a dinner, bed and breakfast basis or (b) a full board (all inclusive) basis. It is particularly suitable for those looking for luxury accommodation near the Kruger Park. A booking service for local activities (including bespoke Kruger safaris in open game-viewers) is also provided. All meals are planned with guests in advance to ensure that the dining experience is a daily highlight. TGCSA 5-Star Country House. ... more   less
