Stayed at the Elephant Lake Hotel two years ago. Had a lovely dinner & breakfast. BUT this time....STAY AWAY FROM THE HIPPO RESTAURANT!!!! DISGUSTING to say the least. Pub & lounge not any better. Hot as hell in lounge, air con not working or just been switched off for cost saving or maybe the staff don't want to have customers... More

A very good 3 star hotel in a great location. Clean rooms and helpful staff. There are tons of things to di in St. Lucia, so 3 nights is my recommendation. I call St. Lucia the Hippo capital of the world. Isimangaliso is also a must see.

We stayed here for 3 Days in january 2015 and the hotel was calm and quite but not so good in the bar for example. They had 4 drinks to offer and a lady that didn´t understand much of what you wanted, but.... The Hotel is perfectly situated, just 1 minute from the mainroad in the Little Town. We can... More

if you are visiting St Lucia, this is the only place to stay. The staff are very friendly, Nosipho is very good on the reception desk! The hotel is a 3 star Hotel and that is what you get. Comfortable, clean rooms. Nice pool area, and a simple breakfast. Do book their boat the " Born Free " for a... More

On our arrival after a 6 hour drive we were greeted by the three reception staff with neither a smile or how are you, stone faced and cold as ice. We were shocked by the reception and wondered what we had let ourselves in for. We went to our rooms and got settled in. We had again specifically asked for... More

Like most South African hotels, this one has good service, reasonable security and a good location. Rooms are well appointed in the 3.5 star range. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean and working. Balcony was a welcome addition but the lack of screen doors means that you couldn't leave the slide door open too long before the monkeys got... More

A disappointing hotel in comparison with others on our two week tour. Welcomed in a cramped old fashioned reception area. The location has pleasant views, although we did not see any hippos on the lawns! But it could be really nice. Our room had a nice outlook but internally the furniture and fittings etc were tired, with no soft chair... More

I was very disappointed with this hotel. It is in dire need of refurbishment. The food was poor and the service not great. There was a Conference taking place at the time of our stay and it appeared that this was the focus of the management. The only saving grace was the comfy bed with a cosy quilt and the... More
