Our Stay at Old Joe’s Kaia was regrettably far to brief. Old Joe’s was everything I remembered and hoped it to be. What a beautiful location. Dinner was excellent with some adventurous menu items. All the food was delicious. Great atmosphere and we had a fabulous evening. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of hot and cold offerings. Everything... More

I participated in a weekend of photography hosted by Old Joe's Kaia. What a pleasant surprise Old Joe's was! Apart from getting my head around Lightroom and the opportunity to photograph amazing landscapes (with the aloes obligingly blooming), I enjoyed Marianne's wonderful home-cooked meals and Paul's serene hospitality. Being nuts about indigenous trees, I found the gardens surrouding Old Joe's... More

After a reference from a family member we decided to also visit Old Joe's Kaya on Sunday afternoon for lunch. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the owners. The food was nice, the service was excellent, and the views are stunning. We will definitely visit soon again.

Thank you for the relaxing afternoon. We arrived for lunch and received excellent service and the food was very well priced. The food is of exceptional home made quality. Had such a great time and an excellent afternoon. The people were so friendly and professional. Will definitely recommend Old Joe's Kaya to any of our friends and family.

Old Joes is everything we would look for in a place for a weekend getaway from Joburg. An easy 3 hour drive, unless you get caught in the Friday afternoon rush, the last half hour or so is down the scenic Schoeman's Kloof, so it is worth trying to get there in the light. The owners are warm and welcoming,... More

Visiting old Joe's Kaia (Schoemanskloof) was unbelievable. From the spur of the moment booking (to be at Mbombela Springbok/Wales weekend), to leaving on Sunday was an experience of note. The gracious hosts "made" space for us, accommodated us for dinner on short notice and made the stay overnight very enjoyable. The dinner was 5star - hosting, presentation and taste!! Special... I can only echo the previous reviews about how great Old Joe's Kaia is. The warmth of our hosts and the quality of our dining experiences will long be remembered and has set the bar for future places that we will visit. One thing is for sure that by staying only a single night wont do it for you, it... More

A little piece of heaven on earth! Consistency to Excellence-whether you visit for a day, a week-end or for a Conference-is second nature to Paul and Marian. The rooms are beautiful with attention to detail that surprises you; the food is equivalent to the best you will find in any 5* restaurant any where in the world!!; the staff is... More

We are going through a terrible time in our lives, our daughter, who resides in Sabie has been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer stage 4. At this moment my wife is at her bedside 24/7. We took a break by spending 3 nights at Old Joe's Kaia and were surprised by the tender care and compassion shared by the owners... More
