A truly delightful experience with old world charm and service. An extensive verandah overlooks the Crocodile River and this game lodge is within the bounderies of the Kruger Park. Wild life abounds as one sits and enjoys the superb service. Dinner allowed Sugar to circulate as an attentive hostess at a dinner party where we were her guests. The tables... More

This was our second stay at Buhala, and again we enjoyed a most wonderful experience. Overlooking the Crocodile River, with excellent views of Rhinos and Elephants, so peaceful, with outstanding service and excellent cuisine. Our river facing room was exquisite, making us feel really pampered. Sugar Rhodes goes out of her way to make you feel welcome, as do her... More

Buhala Lodge has a wonderful position looking over the Crocodile River to the southern Kruger Park. Our first morning we had the experience of seeing an elephant swim over from the park to our side where it disappeared, hopefully not to ravage the mango and paw paw orchards that surround this property. We had one of the garden rooms which... More

Situated inside the Kruger National Park towards the southern gate on the "Crocodile River" is the boutique luxurious Buhala Lodge. Upon arrival the friendly staff checks you into the lodge, escorts you to your room which is very large, decorated beautifully with a very large balcony overlooking the Crocodile River with out-door furniture. That evening we enjoyed hippos grazing just... More

We loved our stay at Buhala Lodge: beautiful views across the Crocodile River of elephants, hippos, giraffe, impala; very comfortable room with large terrace; great service; everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We even had a visit from some elephants close to the terrace while we were having breakfast. Wonderful! We will certainly be returning.

Setting fantastic. Rooms great. Service great. Food was very good but its set menu, no choice, & I found quite heavy main courses for late at night. Would have preferred an alternative lighter option. Also found the piped muzak unnecessary. Would have been happy just hearing night......

The tranquil setting on the bank of the Crocodile River and drinks and dinner by candlelight on the terrace were so memorable. As the sun set we watched nine rhino by the river and a huge buffalo grazing beside the terrace. We were only distracted from the wildlife by the exceptional dinner. The chefs and kitchen staff are to be... More

We landed here because Buhala have facilities to book golf at Leopard Creek. But you do not need to be a golfer to stay here! It is a marvelous lodge, super standard and food and staff. Kruger Park just over the river and a nature so fantastic. I could pack a couple of books just sitting on the verandah and... More

We have visited Buhala several times now and are always very reluctant to leave. The sheer elegance, peace, lovely location and private safaris in Kruger Park all make for an unforgettable experience. We always get a warm welcome and go straight through to the elevated verandah to enjoy a drink as we try to spot wildlife in Kruger Park on... More
