Stayed at the Protea Hazyview Hotel over the Easter holiday. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Other services are somewhat lacking. F&B is generally average and the lack of entertainment is a missed opportunity. Overall a place to stay. Full stop.

Good: location relative to Kruger park, restaurant, beautiful property and views, our room was spacious and clean Bad: I would have loved to have wifi in the room instead of having to venture to the hotel lobby. The walkways to the lobby area were dim and felt unsafe. The property overall doesn't have good lighting. If you are a single woman... More

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The food was good, the view is lovely, the beds were comfortable and the laundry service excellent. The plug for the converter was up on the desk by the mirror. I was thrilled. I'd had to adjust to other plugs at previous hotels much lower. The AC worked well, almost too well.... More

We had a one night stay at the Protea near Hazyview. Our room was very large and clean, but there was no wifi, to find that you had to be in or around the bar, even the restaurant didn't have it, which is pretty poor for a place of this size. When we stayed the place was fairly empty so... More

Situated a short drive from Kruger National Park, in extensive kept grounds, first impressions were good. My room was clean and comfortable, but accessed by a long winding and poorly lit corridoor. Breakfast and diner were buffet style. The food was barely edible, dining room service so slw it was almost non existent. A glass of wine ordered when I... More

Stayed here on Valentines day 2014, checked Trip advisor and saw fellow advisors were not happy, should have listened. Except for the receptionist the staff was extremely "not present" the bar staff has no interest in earning money, customers has to go and ask for service which is slower than slow motion. The buffet was extremely bad, the waitress only... More

Dear "Gerttravelnovice", On behalf of the entire TEAM at the Protea Hotel Hazyview, we sincerely thank you for your review and for sharing your disappointing experience while staying at our hotel. Our room at Hazyview was clean and comfortable. There is no wi-fi available in the rooms and one must go to the bar area to connect. The connection was extremely slow. It was very rainy when we visited and we were unable to enjoy the grounds or the pool. The dinner buffet our first night was good, but the second... More

Dear "Ocysu", Just a short note to thank you for your honest feedback on your recent stay with us. But more importantly, thank you for pointing out some areas of improvement. Your comments on the food quality experienced on your second night are disappointing and certainly will be discussed with the management team. Thank you for choosing to stay with... More

The entrance to the hotel was impressive as were the grounds. The poolside bar was well stocked and made for a pleasant after dinner place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends. The rooms were spacious and clean. They could however, do with an update in decor. We had dinner at the hotel and the buffet was varied with... More
