By the luckiest chance we came upon Asbourne Country Escape. We had no plans about where to stay in the area and booked the honeymoon cottage at the very last moment. Three nights was definitely not enough and all the other places where we stayed during our trip just couldn't live up to this one. The cottage is sheer heaven... More

Rob and Dawn, sorry it's taken so long for me to write this review following our stay last September, but I wanted to finally get it done, and as we found your lovely place on Tripadviser it's only fair to share with others. Where do I start? Well, upon arrival Rob made us feel at home straight away, we had... More

A real gem hidden in the hills around Hazyview. Rob and Dawn are impossibly friendly and accommodating (My wife and I closed off our honeymoon trip with a short stay here, and upon hearing this was given a complimentary bottel of sparkling wine which we duly enjoyed on a pair of deckchairs while enjoying a picture perfect sunset over the... We booked the honeymoon cottage for a one night stop over and wished we could have stayed longer. We received a really warm welcome from Rob and his wife Dawn , along with their lovely Great Danes and Baldrick the Weimaraner. Rob showed us around the property and the beautiful new build with amazing views and then onto our cottage.... More

Lovely self catering cottage with own private splash pool, stunning views and friendly large dogs. Well equipped kitchen and braai (barbeque) area. King size beds and very clean. Folllow directions via bookings.com carefully, it is not well signposted.

Ashbourne is great. Rob is a great host, the room gigantic, great bed and the best atmosphere. The view is super and Rob and his staff do their best to make your stay perfect. When in hazyview, book your stay at Ashbourne. It's worth the drive up the mountain.

Picked this accommodation up off the internet-what an excellent find and close to the gates at Kruger Park. Chose the Family cottage as travelling as two couples-two king size double beds-ensuite with additional lounges-fully equipped self catering kitchen and small plunge pool. Idyllic location close to restaurants in Hazyview. Don't be put off by the drive from the main road... More

We stayed here for five nights in a wonderful two en suite room cottage with central kitchen and dining room, and a large stoop with further dining area, bbq, plunge pool, hammock and great views. The property is in a private and secluded location but contrary to a previous report is easy to find when following the directions provided, which... More

Yes, you have to drive on a dirt road to get to this B&B but what a paradise you discover if you do! Excellent service and accommodation. Well equipped kitchen and the manager offers to make you guacamole (the best I have ever tasted). I highly recommend this superb place.

In order to reach Ashbourne it convenient to use Google maps; drive to Hazyview, up Waterberry Hill Road (gravel road) and then the venue is easily found. We were happy to find that Ashbourne was authentic and tranquil. We were welcomed by Rob and some of the Danish Dogs. He showed us around the premises (partly under construction, which is... More
