My wife and I spent 7 wonderful days at Thulamela. The setting is peaceful and tranquil even though not dead quiet. The chalet was well kept and thankfully airconditioned. The availability of a 4 seater spa bath on the patio is also a welcomed amenity, especially after a long day of site seeing (at the Kruger Park in particular). The... More

Dear Michael and Debbie, thank you so much for such positive feedback! It was great having you as guests at Thulamela and I am thrilled that you enjoyed the breakfasts - I tend to subject guests to things I like!!! I so look forward to welcoming you to Thulamela sometime soon again! Best wishes to you both, Penny @ Thulamela* More

Had a great time at Thulamela. Must admit the breakfasts were different is a very good way. Personal home touch there. Place was peaceful and quiet and you were'nt disturbed by the other guests, Had a little bit of road noise but you can live with that. Jacuzzi was heaven. Ate at Pioneers in town, lovely food and atmosphere. 'Best... More

We spent 4 nights at Thulamela in cottage nr 1 and loved it. The hut is set in a garden of thick bushland, you really feel away from everything and very private, just what we wanted. The cottage is spacious, clean and lovely, bed super comfortable and the little kitchenette has everything needed. We also loved the veranda, where you... More

Stayed at Thulamela during September 2013 and the service I received from Penny from the very onset of my arrangements was excellent. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous and the jacuzzi was heaven on earth but I must admit, I was a bit disappointed with the location. It is situated close to the main road and the traffic is audible even... More

What a perfect engagement, from the moment we arrived. We had rose petals everywhere, my favorite flowers were arranged for in the room on arrival, a fruit platter, truffles, different color sparkling wines, etc. no request were to big for them, as Penny went out of her way for us. Breakfast were delicious to say the least, with each morning... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Thulamela. The cottage you stay in is a perfect hideaway from city life. Breakfast is served on your private patio in the mornings and is very very tasty. The room is well equipped for self catering use with a braai area at the cottage. The owner, Penny, is very lovely and... More

We spent three nights at Thulamela for our anniversary which is an owner run establishment consisting of a couple of self-catering cottages on a farm overlooking Hazyview. When we first arrived I was a little disappointed at the lack of attention to detail. With the description of "luxury" and the rate per night I was expecting better finishes and beautiful... More

This iss an exquisite weekend getaway place in the middle of nowhere. The little chalets are hidden inside an indigenous little forest which makes them very private (you can hardly see the next chalet). Each chalet has its own spa bath outside on the deck. This was a great weekend break and I will certainly be back.

We were lucky enough to travel to Hazyview very recently and had pre-booked to stay for 2 weeks at Thulamela. Although my partner had stayed here 11 years ago, it was a first time visit for me..... From our arrival with rose petals scattered on the private path to our secluded log cabin, to more petals in the private jacuzzi,... More

This is the second time I have stayed at Thulamela and once again, expectations were exceeded. From the arrival, with the Rose petals on the pathway, to the fantastic staff and service, it is not the last time I will stay here !!! Thulamela isn't a 5 star hotel, so if that's what you want, then it isn't for you,... More
