Having lived in Hazyview for 8 years it was difficult to decide where to stay on a return visit. The reports on Idle and Wild looked better than most and yes we did know the owners and staff. Everything was excellent. Stayed there on the way in and three weeks later on the way out. Accomodation brilliant and excellent value... More

Not a brilliant experience for us. The good parts: good location, the night we arrived Wendy recommended a great restaurant. Lovely grounds, very peaceful, well run. Great base for exploring the Blyde River Canyon. The bad parts: Wendy was on her own the time we were there, and she was visibly stressed. Too much rolling eyes and breathing in for... More

We wanted a B&B near Hazyview and convenient for the Blyde River Canyon. We plumped for Idle & Wild and were not disappointed. It is easy to find. We stayed in a very comfortable rondaval, spotlessly cleaned every day. Bathroom a little small but about standard for a rondaval and with a small kitchen area and honesty mini bar. It... More

The staff, garden and pool are all super at Idle & Wild. It was great to have a kitchenette, a fan, and a patio table outside on our porch. Our room had plenty of electrical outlets. I loved walking in the adjacent macadamia farm. The pond in the garden is home to a frog choir and there are great stars... More

We really enjoyed the tranquility of the location. Booked a rondavel overlooking a magnificent garden. Very friendly owners and staff. Our accommodation was clean and spacious, with open kitchenette and bathroom (maybe the bathroom being “open” is the only tiny inconvenience). Breakfast was served on the terrace of the main house and was delicious (choice of several cereals, types of... More

Our travel agent booked us one night only, on our way to Kruger Park. We were given the bridal suite, a spacious and cosy Rondavel, including a Jacuzzi. Beds soft yet firm. Good breakfast. The rondavels are scattered in a garden that resembles a park. Much privacy. We would have loved to stay longer. Christine, the owner, is very hospitable,... More

Really nice place in Hazyview. Good breakfast. Nice rooms, rondavel rooms are really good. Nice beds. Nice people, good service. Just a beautiful place. Also the acitivities are great, great place to start panorama route. And we did quad biking and river rafting wich is on the property of idle & wild. These are must do's! Just great.

I am rarely unhappy about this well situated spot hidden on a working farm. I always arrive fairly late and leave ea rly, but the staff are very accommodating and genuinely happy. Will gladly recommend it for both local and international guests!
