What a nice little place to stay! Bit far from Dullstroom if you have friends staying in town. The cobbles are great for 2. We didn't have the time to try out the trout dams but will do on our next visit.

Ah yes, Dullstroom. Where you can unwind, relax and enjoy blissful peace of nature in the comfort of your armchair. At Stonecutters we were met by a warm welcome, friendly service and beautiful pine trees. Unfortunately, we were also met by a shower reminiscent of someone squirting you with a little water-gun. The water-gun was also accompanied by a stove, the... More

We stayed at Stonecutters Lodge for a few days end of December 2013, and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We occupied Trout House (4 adults and 2 kids) and Stone Cottage (3 adults). Both units are fully equipped for self-catering inclusive of dishwashers (bonus)and even a washing machine in Stone Cottage. There are more than enough bathrooms in both units... More

As usual, we enjoyed our stay: the food, ambiance and accommodation was excellent! The dams had just been stocked and I enjoyed the fishing. We opted for dinner B & B as well as lunch which was delicious and delivered to our room. It was a most relaxing stay.

We returned to Stonecutters Lodge in August en route to the bush. We were accommodated in the very recently enlarged and beautifully renovated Stone Cottage. Incredibly spacious now, the elevated patio has one of the best views on the property, enticing us to relax and have sundowners on arrival! Our decision to self cater this time was a good one... We have just returned from a weekend at Stonecutter's Lodge, approx. 35 kilometres outside of Dullstroom. Stonecutter's offers catered and self-catering accommodation. After having opted for the romance package in February (which includes champagne and flowers upon arrival, a breakfast basket taken to your room, etc.), we selected the dinner, bed and breakfast option this time. Again, the food was... More

I wanted to treat my husband to a romantic weekend away but unfortunately it was not exactly what we were hoping for. The hotel seemed to be run by a single guy that was the porter, waiter, clerk, cook assistant etc. He really did try hard, but the lack of staff and run down reception area was a real downer.... As owner/managers of Stonecitters Lodge, we were surprised and disappointed to receive a bad review from "No what we expected". We usually receive great reviews for our accommodation, meals and service! To address a few specifics: The gate mentioned is on an access road and not on our own property and we are not at liberty to upgrade it at... More

We stayed for a weekend at Stonecutters Lodge - Trout House. Even though it was a short weekend trip it felt like we were transported to a different world - a relaxing, everything you need world. The Trout House was WAY too big for us - it was only my wife, our toddler and myself - we thoroughly enjoyed our... More

As it was my wife's birthday the day after we landed from the UK, we decided to split our travel down to eastern Mpumalanga by staying mid-way - between Lydenburg and Dullstroom. We chose Stonecutters Lodge based on recommendations from other people. Our room was pleasant and the service was exceptional. We dined in on both days - and found... More

We came to South Africa for the first time and had chosen the Stonecutters Lodge for our first night. What a lucky decision that was! Lesley and Margi are the "born hosts" and gave us wonderful stay. Also their staff are all very kind and attentive. The whole crew just spoilt from the first minute on. The meal in the... More
