Good Hotel, what put me off was smoking in the bar, and no facility for non smoker, I did raise this with management. Buffet Breakfast was great. The hotel has a beautiful garden and is situated in quiet secluded area.

I just came back from my trip to Polokwane. I attended a conference at the Ranch Hotel and I stayed there for 3night. Everything there is nice. I cant complain much. The location is nice, beautiful. Calm place, not noise at all. Food at all times was tasty (especially dessert, and im not a dessert person). The staff is friendly.... More

We spent another night at this wonderful resort, this time on our way to go and do a guided 4x4 trail near Louis Trichardt. The service was fantastic and this time we decided to have the breakfast. We were 3 families with 6 kids all under the age of 9. The restaurant manager on duty looked at the kids asked... More

The hotel had our booking all wrong and they said they don't have the room we booked, after much fuss and a 1/2 he later the hospitality manageress was efficient and sorted issues out in a flash. The setting is lovely and peaceful pity the hotel is very or below average. The rooms are in need of a desperate make... More

My family stayed at the Ranch Hotel Polokwane, and my husband and I were treated to early morning runs around the estate with Paul the owner's son and Ranch General Manager, during which we were able to see zebra, many buck, giraffe and many birds including crows near the Hyaena enclosure. We went on a game drive during which we... More

On our way north we stopped over at The Ranch. The roads were busy and we were looking for a comfortable stay over - nothing more and nothing less. The restaurant proved to be a nice treat - they had a buffet style and a fine-dining alternative. After being sent away because I was wearing shorts (well down to the... More

We stayed there over the weekend and where very pleasantly surprised! There is plenty to see and do, in fact a weekend is not long enough! I would recommend the Protea Ranch Hotel and we are already planning our return visit! Pack your golf clubs, camera, swimming costume, binoculars, walking boots and come hungry!

Hotel is just OK. Rooms are below average. They have a nice restaurant and the best of all was definitely a tour called "Walk with Lions". I did it at 7 am and spent around one hour walking with 4 lions and several guides. This is AWESOME!!!! Don't spend your time and money going to the Game Ride. You will... More

To get from Stellenbosch to the low veld (Kruger Park area) takes much longer that it seems. So a nights stop over (after flying to JHB / Lanseria) is usually required..... This time we decided to travel via Polokwane in order to reach the Karongwe Game Reserve between Tzaneen and Hoedspruit. The only accommodation which seemed suitable was the Ranch... More
