Olifants Camp is riding on the glory of days past. It is punted as one of the best rest camps in the Kruger National Park, but when it comes to comfort and service it doesn't really leave the visitor astounded. The view is spectacular from all view points but the chalets seem a bit old. Service delivery in terms of... More

Olifants Restcamp is in good condition and is well-maintained. Olifants, with its high elevation, is famous for its look-out point which affords magnificent panoramas over the Olifants River below. The camps now has a Mugg & Bean to replace the awful eatery that existed before. It also has a well-stocked shop with a good range of merchandise including fresh produce... More

Some one should have warned us that the heat pumps would keep going off sporadically through the night, i was woken up atleast 6 times with what sounded like a jet starting up. I understand the need for economic hot water systems but solar would have been a quieter and more economic choice.

The view of the Olifants River must be the most stunning of all the rest camps in the KNP. Reservation and shop staff were polite and professional. I am not a fan of the new Mugg and Bean menu so this aspect was a bit disappointing. We also used the laundry while here as we had been traveling for a... More

Very professional & polite staff. Shop & restaurant excellent. Bungalow requires kitchen area to be upgraded- only one plug socket so can only have kettle, toaster or microwave working at one time. Also needs a sharp knife to be added to cutlery. Otherwise very clean, comfortable & a fantastic view.

This is one of my favourite places in the world, and I hope to return many more times. However, I like to listen to the distant night noises - but now you are more likely to hear your neighbouring hut's heat pump cycling in with roar... I understand the need to reduce power requirements, but would solar power not be... More

Even though we rate this as our best camp in the Kruger National Park it still has faults which we would like to share: 1. Access to the braai from Unit 19 is via stairs in front of unit 20 which is inconvenient as it affects unit 20's privacy. 2. Heat pumps for the geysers are very noisy and disturb... More

This was our first stay in Kruger and turned out to be more than expected with views to die for. We arrived with our daughter and son in law and were allocated huts next to each other with views overlooking the Olifants river - wonderful. The huts were very clean but basic - after all you are visiting the area... More

In terms of expectations (and with one exception), the honest, well run simplicity of the Olifants rest camp ticked every box. Combine this with a view 'to die for' and one couldn't ask for anything more. The exception relates to a non functioning generator during a power outage on Wednesday evening 17 June. For this to occur in an establishment... More

We booked late and could not get a cabin near the edge with the view over the river, but we could just walk there and enjoy the view from the many areas that were available just for this. The camp was fully booked, but we did not find it crowded. The cabin was just big enough to hold 3 beds,... More
