Accommodations were basic. The rooms were smaller than Satara but had a more functional kitchen in the unit (actually it was on the deck) with a stovetop, tea kettle, dishes and cutlery. Sadly we had lots of ants all over our room. Otherwise, the view was great from the restaurant. The camp also offered neat opportunities (like walking and biking... More

This is a great location but basic beds, shower & roof. Fridge outside and BBQ facility on veranda which looked like half an oil drum. Before you go into the park if you pass a supermarket buy some food to cook yourself. Food in the rest area is very basic so take some in and cook it yourselves. We went... More

It’s quite possibly the best managed of the national park camps we stayed in. Everything was clean and in working order as it should be. Fabulous view and deck. Great check in, comfortable, perfect experience.

Our family spent one night at Olifants - we loved the peaceful location, the views and the game viewing. 1 - The view. The view down the hill to the Olifants river is really spectacular - you can watch the animals coming and going to the river far below to drink. The restaurant in particular has a lovely outdoor terrace... More

As everyone has said, the Olifants view is terrific. The rondavels, not so much. They are small and very basic and in need of some care. The staff at the reception was very good, though. One new addition--Mugg and Bean has taken over the food concession in Olifants and other rest camps. Service was excellent and food was good. Next... More

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, African experience accommodation this is the place. We stayed in a newly refurbished rondavel at the Olifants Rest Camp. It had a lovely view of the river (which was pretty dry at the time) with lots of trees around. The bird life we saw was fantastic. With its thatched roof, you really... More

Stayed in a bungalow for 2 people which had a fridge, braai area & a lovely little pateo. The views from the new restaurant (brand new Mugg & Bean) are undoubtedly the best in the park so it's a relief to finally have a decent restaurant to eat at while enjoying the view. We booked a night drive which did... More

Although we had a wonderful view from our rondavel our stay was not as it could have been because the restaurant was being renovated. And also in the closest other rest camp the restaurant was closed. The value is is greatly diminished if the restaurant is closed at any rest camp. So check and await the completion of the renovation... More

Double wow really for the view and we had 13 twice, best river view. This room has the braai located behind the rondavel next to the car and although had prob the best view 10 to 12 have braai next to outside area. If you can't get these then 16 of the river view chalets is top although 2 to... More

The location on top of the hill overlooking the Olifants River is absolutely stunning. However, the cottages are known to be rustic and basic but where lacking maintenance in general. When asked to replace the lights on the patio so we could braai the next day nothing happened. I had great experiences with games drives in the Kruger in the... More
