Pretoriuskop is a reasonably priced self catering accommodation option within Kruger National Park. The décor of the chalets is outdated and this is a pity, however they were spotless and came with all equipment as stated. We have stayed in the 2, 4 and viewed the 6 sleeper units. This is the oldest camp at Kruger and therefore a bit outdated. The little houses are simple and provide enough room (at least ours, there are smaller huts on the premises as well). It offers all you need for a short stay: kitchen, shower, grill, a supermarket and a Wimpy-diner.

Still a nice camp to stay. Great area to see lots of game and rare game too. But the chalet we were given had a strong, stale cigarette smoke smell and there was still a dirty plate in the microwave with some sort of fatty sauce in it. Authentic accommodation and all round great facilities. We explored the Kruger each day on self drive tours, however the twilight game drive run by Management was awesome, the information and amount of game we saw was well worth the cost.

Stayed here our first nights on arrival in Kruger. Some problems with pickets at the Numbi Gate, we were aware of, so entered from Phabeni, which made for a long drive from J'berg. We stayed in the Joubert Lodge, which is an upmarket accommodation in the rest camp. The lodge is terrific - perimeter setting, main lodge with 4 satellite guest cottages (each with their own bathrooms and lounges) - all included in the nighty rate. We really enjoyed Pretoriuskop. The staff wfarieere so helpful & friendly, so willing to engage with visitors. Rondavels were clean & well equipped, enjoyed our braiis, good meat in the shop. Staff in the Wimpey were so helpful & attentive, even offered to stay open till the night drive arrived back. BUT not everyone want fast food. On the negative... More

We caravanned for three nights at the Pretoriuskop Restcamp with our two toddlers. Apart from the swimming pool (which was great), there was not much else for them to do. We stayed "mid-terrace" in an elongated rondavel which was basic but with a fridge, air conditioning and a barbecue which is all that's needed. The toilet and shower block has seen better day with a few tiles missing and no working door locks, but everything was spotlessly clean. The camp as a whole is a very pleasant place to stay... More

Rather than do one long drive from Berg-en-Dal in the south through to Olifants camp in the middlge of the Kruger National Park we decided to stay at Pretoriuskop where we had not stayed before.
