We had booked a night in pretoriuskop based on its proximity to numbi gate. Although the san parks website stated to avoid numbi gate, the drive there was relatively speedy, albeit bumpy. Better than going to nalelane gate, where there are easily delays of 45 mins due to roadworks. We entered pretoriuskop just before 6 (closure), and reception was efficient.... More

This the first and oldest Kruger National Park camp is undergoing renovation and its restaurant temporarily closed - with no apologies for the lacking mention of this major inconvenience in the booking confirmation. A bivouac-style food shelter is a poor alternative. The chalet's appearance shows its age. The staff's nonchalant attitude was a noticeable deviation from park standards but not... More

We spent three nights at Pretoriuskop in December 2013. The camp is lovely & close to Hazyview if you can brave the roads on the outside of Kruger (but we found entering via the N4 at Malelane / Crocodile Bridge gates much better). We stayed in a family unit on the perimeter. There is a road that is used by... More

We are a family of 5 adults so had a large 2 bedroom hut. Well equipped and clean. Such a pity the road in is terrible - rutted, no signage. Not a great introduction to a great location. Don't even bother with camp food. Kruger is for braaing! Also, not too enamoured with extorting foreign tourists for fees equivalent to... More

We returned in November and stayed in a newly renovated unit, probably the nicest I've stayed at in Kruger. The shower was modern with new screen and the room had been newly decorated. One word of warning there was a grill to pull over the fridge and shelves and a vervet monkey troupe managed to get their fingers through and... More

we stayed at this camp in late december and we all enjoyed it! the room was very big and very clean and we had a great time having the bbq outside so we cooked nice meals with our family! there's also a swimming pool which is nice after a long day in the car!

Dirty. Unfriendly staff. The food of the restaurant is so bad that we became sick of it. Terrible. There were even no medicines anymore in the shop. Out of stock. So I guess we were not the only ones who became sick of this dirty food. Most worst stay in South Africa. The park with the animals are great but... More

We had last visited many years ago and were some what unsure with booking this camp as it is so close to the gate. We need not have worried - it is a great camp with wonderfully friendly staff and, fantastic game viewing right on your doorstep! The chalet was well equipped and built around a large circular lawn area.... More

We are a couple in our late 30s. We stayed for one night getting off the plane at Nelspruit and driving into the park. It was a great first night. Bungalow was comfortable. Restaurant the usual rubbish Kruger camp place with poor quality fatty food. Bring your own food to Braai. Good game viewing. We would come back.

This camp is near the gate and is the closest from joburg. The accommodation is clean but poor quality. I think many guests stay here as near the gate. The staff whilst friendly were a little lazy and dinner in restaurant was rubbish. Best to get up early and see the many great animals near by. Saw rhinos asleep by... More
