We had two nights here and should only have had one. Bungalow was fine but couldn't get one with a kitchen. Staff all excellent and Sunset tour driver fantastic, so knowledgeable. Wimpy restaurant disappointing, one step up from McDonalds. They had run out of fruit, red and white wine and coffee dreadful! Shop was also being refurbished, so supplies were... More

We loved our (one-night) stay here. We had come from Olifants camp and had expected Pretoriuskop to be worse than that. But the opposite was true. The accommodation was very comfortable and we really felt at home here. The shop was nice and the restaurant (Wimpy) was our kids' favourite. All in all, the camp is very good. Too bad... More

This is a very easy rest camp to get to in the Kruger National Park and has some great dams located close by with excellent wildlife sightings. This camp is well known for its small pack of wild dogs with a good chance of seeing them (if nature obliges). Also has some good cheetah sightings. The camp is well run... More

Although it's year's since we've stayed at Pretoriuskop, it remains a favourite of ours. The rest camp is in good condition and is well-maintained. These days, the restaurant is a Wimpy outlet - a vast improvement of what was there before. The shop is well-stocked with a good range of merchandise including fresh produce. The swimming pool is undoubtedly the... More

We spent 2 nights in the rondavels which had five beds and no bathrooms. We used shared ablution blocks and they were ok, cleaned regularly. The camp has a great pool and local Wimpy and a shop stocking some of the things you may have run out of. It's not the Ritz and we have been to privately run campsites... More

Very cute albeit small cabin but who cares when there are so many birds to be seen just by walking around the camp! We saw Brown-headed Parrots, Barbets, Trogons & more! Restaurant Wimpy was OK but not great. Come for the birds, not the food.

I stayed at Pretoriuskop for 2 nights in a BD2 bungalow. The rest camp is quite large and the facilities were good (convenience store, Whimpy burger outlet, petrol station) The room in general was very standard, but it was clean, comfortable & safe. I spent the whole day out in the park (6am gates open, 5.30pm gates close) so by... More

We were allocated the 'royal' bungalow on arrival (King & Queen of UK visited this camp in 1947) which had 2 ensuite bedrooms and fully fitted kitchen. We went on an early morning game ride and saw a leopard with her 3 cubs (weren't we lucky). There is fast food restaurant on site together with a shop which caters for... More

This was my second visit to Pretoriuskop; first time during the winter and what a fabulous trip. We stayed in basic accommodation with shared ablution facilities and a shared kitchen. The rondavels we stayed in didn't have fridges so make sure you check before you go. Most rondavels have fridges... The prime sightings included a lion pride in the road... More

I stayed at Pkop for 1 night, stayed in a BD2D bungalow along the fence line. Went on a Sunset drive: saw a rhino taking a mud bath and then, scrapping up against boulders to remove ticks etc., hippos, spotted eagle owl, hyena & 2 cubs, rhino & calf, and an unbelievable battle between another mother rhino w/calf against 2...
