Stayed 3 nights. Cabin was very spacious. Good selection in mini bar which was all inclusive. Staff was very kind and helpful. They just got a new chef that was great. She came out and talk with the guest. Food was out of the world. This was my 3rd safari, best accommodation of the three. Game driver (Cameron Scott )... More

We just returned from the most incredible time at Tinga Lodge (Lion Sands). The team were so welcoming, they felt like family after our 4 night stay. We were incredibly well looked after. All members of staff were friendly, fun, authentic and attentive without being overly so. They pre-empted our every need, even bringing our favourite wine out to us... More

We stayed at Lion Sands (Tinga Lodge) and were thoroughly pampered. The "cabins" are luxurious. The food is delicious. But, the rangers and trackers were wonderful. Though it's difficult getting up so early in the morning, it's worth it to see all of the animals in their natural habitats. We even saw the elusive black rhino!

In a nutshell ... Wonderful setting, excellent facilities, fabulous large bungalows with terraces, plunge pools and view of the river, the best guides and trackers, fantastic food- what more could you want? We saw "the big 5 in 24 hours !!! Details I researched potential places within the Sabi Sands / Kruger National Park area for some time and knew... More

Beautiful room but very slick concrete floors are dangerous. Non-skid bedside & bathroom rugs need to be in place for a true 5 star facility. Personnel were all very friendly & personable, the food was good & well presented. .

The facilities are outstanding, the staff gracious, and the food great. Of course, the real focus is the Safari. Our Ranger and Tracker were superb and thanks to their diligence we saw all of the BIG 5. The individual cottages were sparkling clean, well appointed, and located fantastically on the river. Beds were very comfortable and linens very high quality.... More

Great rooms, great service, great food, great staff, fantastic safaris ( mornings & nights). Cannot fault this hotel in any way as it lived up to its 5 star status. One negative comment - after having travelled to many parts of South Africa - they charge international prices to tourists while paying local costs for food, labour and upkeep! Would... More

We spent three nights at Tinga. It is not often that you stay somewhere and cannot find fault with anything. The lodge, the accommodation, the staff, the food and the location are fantastic. Jason and Emmanuel shared their knowledge of the bush with us on our twice-daily game drives. They chose the most spectacular spots for our drinks breaks. Our... More

Stayed for 3 nights with family and the lodge and rooms were a class apart. The staff is attentive to every small need and our ranger Jason was fantastic and had a brilliant time with him. We had lions eating a kill outside our room so when we were not on safari ....we were still on safari in our rooms sitting... More

Our honeymoon stay at Tinga Lodge was nothing short of spectacular. The game drives and bush walks were fun, informative (thanks, Jo & Reckson!) and we certainly saw more than we expected or hoped. The lodge and rooms were beautiful - imagine spending your time between drives sitting by a river where hippos are grazing, then add in restaurant-quality food... More
