I just heard yesterday that the lodge was destroyed in January 2013's floods. This is a real shame as this is a superb lodge - the best we've stayed at in South Africa We just hope they can re-open it. Good luck

Thank you Colinobj for your concern for our camp. Pafuri Camp is such a special and loved place by so many of us! At this time, we are still in the final stages of completing the insurance claim negotiation, and only once this has been finalised in full, will we then be able to advise with regards to exact reopening... Pafuri is unique in so many ways - the rooms are luxuriouysly appointed tents connected by wooden walkways set well above the ground so that the smaller animals can wander freely through the camp. You can sit on your private deck and watch life go by on the river below - don't try to read as there is always something... More

Pafuri is honestly my favorite place on Earth. I went there first as part of a research project to characterise the wetlands in the Makuleke Concession in 2010. I was utterly blow away. Not only is the Makuleke Concession much quieter than the rest of the Kruger Park, but the diversity of animals, birds and type is vegetation is incredible.... More

Pafuri Camp is beautifully located in the shade of big trees on the river. The "tents", more like beautiful little houses, are spacious, very nice decorated and provide everything one could need for a lovely stay. All tents and the deck area are connected via board walks with animals roaming underneath. The deck area is very nice with a lovely... More

An amazing experience for anyone looking for a more secuded exerience of the Kruger. I have never experienced a bush holiday quite like it. The chalets are luxurious with river front views allowing amazing game viewing from the comfort of your room. Our guide Godfrey was enthusiaitic, sharp eyed and eared and an encyclopedia of knowledge on the local birds.... More

wow wow and more wow. After driving all day from the very moment we arrived we were greeted with smiles. We were guided onto the deck that overlooked the river and were welcomed with drinks and chilled wet towels. The staff were AMAZING! The view is wonderful and the 'tents' were brilliant. They were are raised platforms and were wonderfully... More

Pafuri Camp is in the triangle of the Kruger Park where Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa meet. It is not the usual( though wonderful collection) of animals- this is bird and tree country. Think fever tree forests and baobabs , gorges and amazing and rare birds. The camp is very comfortable and stylish - tented bedrooms full of luxury, a... More

Our second visit to Pafuri. Its a wonderful place - with a huge variety of animals and birds etc. The accomodation in raised tents (under thatched roofs) is terrrific - we had a family tent as our son was staying with us. If you're concerned about "camping", don't be! Its really a beautiful room with fully functioning electrics and plumbing... More
