Not as attractive a setting as say Olifants, Letaba or Lower Sabie with their expansive views but the game viewing is much better. Rondavels circle a pleasant grassed area, and there is a pool! The rondavels are basic but perfectly adequate, and the fridge comes in handy. Very quiet at night apart from the roaring of the occasional lion. Also,... More

September - October ideal time of the year. Dry and hot but easy to spot game because of limited vegetation. We stayed in a unit next to the camp fence (G). Could watch hyaena circle camp at night. Could hear lions roar almost every night. Chalet clean but very dated. Take own pillow case, linen old. Unit fitted with mosquito... More

Good clean well serviced units , comfortable. What sets this camp apart from the rest is the incredible game viewing with a high concentration of predators. It is also less of a bun fight than Lower Sabie/Skukuza area.

Travelling from Mopani to Pretoriuskop we need a stopover for two nights & chose Satara. Staff were extremely unhelpful, service in the fast food restaurant was very far from fast, again staff unhelpful. Staff in shop actually "threw" my receipt at me. Communal kitchen means 3 hot plates & one urn for 24 rondavels. Reception staff unhelpful when we requested... More

Check in took forever after rich we were given a broken key and couldn't get into the unit. Once in the aircon didn't work in 1 of the rooms, the mosquito mesh was shredded and the oven didn't work. Management was of no assistance in finding us another unit or camp to stay in. I'll come back as a day... More

not sure what i expected, but other than the restaurants everything was perfect, as with the later safari camps I would cater myself at the Rondavel. (the Mug and Bean was the best of the safari camp restaurants i ate in), The accommodation was good, clean chalet ,clean bedding and well maintained unit, would have been nice to stay longer than... This was the last camp we stayed at during our recent trip around the Kruger and we were both much impressed with the changes that we noted since our last trip in 2009. Reception was efficient and we were through the paperwork in minutes. Our rondavel was in the A circle, and although not a perimeter hut, we found it... More

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at Satara. Our group of 5 stayed in 3 adjoining 'huts'. These have round concrete walls, a thatched roof and are equipped for 2 including toilet, shower, fridge freezer and barbecue space. The huts are rustic and reasonably basic but comfortable. We ate at the Mugg and Bean restaurant which was excellent with... More

Satara Restcamp is located in one of the best game viewing areas of Kruger National Park. The accommodations are simlpe but you will find everything you need. We just spent the night at the camp, so we're not able to talk about the surrounding too much, except that you will find a restaurant and a shop. A suggestion of us... More
