Spent one night here....camp restaurant is a well known south-african restaurant, reception welcome was good, camp shop is good and very well stocked. Game in the area is plentiful. Our only two downsides were the quality of the room. It was very average and run down in parts. The camp itself is in good need of a tidy up and... More

Worst camp we stayed at. The staff were rude and did not give a monkeys. It just so happened that in the near vicinity we also saw absolutely no animals so the whole camp and location was a right off. Plenty of nice camps especially down south like Lower Sabie - excellent camp.

I don't mind the quality of the accommodation, after all you get what you pay for, but the guides we encountered were surly and disinterested. Use your own car if you have one. No wifi even at the office. Yes we saw lots of animals.... but mostly from the comfort of our car. Bring your own food with you if... More

The dumpiest, oldest and dirtiest of the four camps we stayed in. However, the animal sightings were superb. There is no competition so shut up and put up with the camp's failings. A pride of lions inhabit the are of the S100 gravel road 3KM south of the Satara gate. In addition to the Mugg & Beans, there is also... More

We have been two nights in Satara Rest Camp and it wasn't as good as expected. First of all we should say that we came from a Camp Lodge in a private concession, everything was amazing and perfect and maybe our expectations were very high for the Satara rest camp. When we arrived to the reception to make the check... More

A very nice camp. Mugg & Bean food is very good although service was slow at times. Great wildlife sightings in the area inc Lion, Cheetahs, Honey Badger and Wildcat. Had an excellent evening drive led by one of the Rangers, Martin. The accommodation is however very tired - not a lot is needed to improve it! Tips: Night Drives... More

Spent two nights at Satara Rest camp in November. The Kruger experience is, of course, not about the camps, it's about getting out into the Park and the wildlife. But the accommodation is worn & tired and badly in need of upgrading/refurbishment. The camp grounds also looked badly in need of some care & attention. The restaurants were a definite... More

It doesnthe trick. Great location, the huts are good. Bbq and all the basic essentials required. The shop is well stocked, serviced and priced. Clean tidy and well maintained. It does everything you need.

Our family and friends of us stayed at Satara from the 11th Dec - 16 Dec. We rented 3 rondawels and booked three planned activities which included a 4 am morning walk where we in countered Buffalo, a night drive and a very memorable 23th wedding anniversary sunset drive where we witnessed a lion kill. A very special thanks to... More

We have been to Kruger 4 times and stayed at several other camps. We were terribly disappointed to find the Rondavels had no dishes, pots or pans, cutlery, etc nor did the communal kitchen which essentially forced us to go to the restaurant to eat all meals. This is despite the fact they call it self-catering! At Rand 3150 or... More
