We spent 3 nights at the Satara Rest camp as part of a 6 night safari. Being embedded within the Kruger National Park meant that we were able to maximise our time viewing the wild animals (Park rules stipulate the hours you are allowed within the park, with severe fines / prosecution for not obeying the rules). The accommodation was... More

SatAra offered us a clean comfortable place to stay in Kruger. It was great to be able to access the park early in the morning to allow us to see great animal sightings. The cottages were very clean and great for self catering. We even saw a honey badger in the camp site. Great place to stay.

We found Satara camp to be considerably better than the Olifants experience we had had the night before. Reception was welcoming, the common areas (reception, shop and restaurants) were clean and well-presented and the overall impression was good. We were allocated a rondavel in circle A which, to be truthful, is a little tired with more "duiweltjies" (spiky thorny plants... More

The accommodation was ok, but it needs a renovation. The swimming pool is small but was nice, when is very hot. They also have a rest., that was very practical if you don't want to cook. The room has air conditioner.

Stayed at Satara rest camp for 3 nights when visiting Kruger. Kruger itself is easy to get around though the animals you see is a matter of pot luck. We had a fence hut in the camp so could see directly through the fence to whatever animals were close by (try to get huts 166, 167, 168 If you can).... More

Rather disappointing stay a couple of nights ago with little to no water pressure which made showering and even filling the kettle, a challenge. Cellular reception for Vodacom was patchy and insufficient to make/connect a call. We stayed in circle A and the areas outside the units are very badly maintained. Grass doesn't exist anymore (both within the circle and... More

Stayed here just for one night. Arrived very tired but had a very friendly reception ( marked contrast to Lower Sabie) The camp seemed to be well managed with a nice atmosphere, the rooms are good for the price and well enough equipped to cook for your self if you want to. Rooms arranged in circles but well designed to... More

The Satara area of the park is richly diverse and is renowned for game viewing however the camp is run down and given the number of foreign guests, is an embarrassment to SANPARKS. The bungalows are located in close proximity to each other in circles around a central grass area, all of which is completely overgrown. On speaking with other... More

Love these rest camps in Kruger that make it so accessible to all, such good value. Also stayed at oliphants & letaba. All fab. Had bungalow with private kitchen & had all we needed. Entertained by baboon visit in morning looking for bin rubbish (you can't train people to be respectful of being in the 'wild' unfortunately). Also saw honey... More

Satara has an interesting layout for the chalets. They are arranged in rings around a large grassy area with good size trees. Our chalet had the kitchen and eating area outside but it was fairly private in spite of the circular arrangements of the chalets. The AC worked well. The shop was well stocked. Did not try the restaurant. There... More
