The camp is very strategicaly based almost in the middle of the park. We were travelling from north to the south, so we stayed there one night. Camp is very big and distance between restaurant and camping site can be too long for someone. Facilities were almost clean and staff helpful, again except of the restaurant, we sit there for... We spent two nights at the Satara rest camp and really enjoyed it. We had two rondavels right on the perimeter fence - which was a fantastic place to be! Hyena were right next to the fence at night, and elephants were there during the day! We did a morning bush walk which was one of the best experiences of... More

Standard Kruger Park camp operated by SANPARK. Rondavels are simple, but clean. Location in the middle part of Kruger park, next to a river (nice view). Braai/Barbecue facilities very good, there is a shop for fodder and drinks.

Had a 4 night stay in the camp, central location allowed for great planning of daily game drives in all directions. Rooms / Huts were very clean and tidy and used the Braais each night for our meal. Onisght shop was well stocked catering for most needs. All staff very friendly and helpful, sunset & night drive very good and... More

The accommodation was adequate for our purposes. No complaints, In fact the outside kitchen was very lekke and we had great fun here. I felt like I was in a bit of a tourist trap though. The day we arrived, we went to the shop, and there were queues being directed to the till points, Felt like the Woolworths store... More

stopped for breakfast, it now has a mug and bean and a debonair pizza. we had a mug and bean breakfast. there were only about 10 other customers and quite a lot more staff. bacon and tomato was cold so probably all cooked in advance, eggs were served incorrectly, just an easy breakfast messed up. just no attention to detail.... These were simple huts with soft mattresses and surprisingly not too cold at night. There were screens for bugs but one was broken. Despite being in a malaria zone, there were not many mosquitoes to be seen. We picked this camp due to its proximity to game. We did not hear any lions roar in the night but our lion... More

After spending 3 nights at Lower Sabie we were slightly disappointed when we arrived at Satara. The communal areas (gardens, reception etc) in the camp feel a bit "tired". Staff were efficient but not overly friendly. Staff at the car wash were extremely unhelpful and should rather give their jobs up for people who want a job! Pool and jungle... More

Our family spent two nights at Satara as part of a Kruger trip in July. 1. Game viewing - "Everyone says" that Satara is one of the best spots for game viewing and we agree! The landscape around Satara is more open than elsewhere in the park - in out two nights we saw lions, elephants, rhinos, jacket, buffalo, giraffes,... More

Stayed here two nights with teen son on month tour of Southern Africa. We loved this camp and stayed in one of the cottages which was spacious, comfortable and clean. Enjoyed both night and morning game drives offered through the main office, seeing leopard, lion, cheetah, hyena, and lots of other terrific game sightings. Our guides were exceptional on these...
