Satara Restcamp is located in one of the best game viewing areas of Kruger National Park. The accommodations are simlpe but you will find everything you need. We just spent the night at the camp, so we're not able to talk about the surrounding too much, except that you will find a restaurant and a shop. A suggestion of us... More

Accommodation is basic, on the small side. But clean and gives you easy access to great game viewing. Helpful, pleasant staff. Mugg and Bean, and Debonairs a vast improvement on old tired restaurants.

We arrived at Satara after our first full day of driving in the park. The first thing which struck us was the size of the place (we had spent our first night at Berg-en-Dal, a much smaller camp). Reception was efficient and our group of twelve were split between a three bed bungalow and the Stanley Guest House. This is... More

Another frustrating Kruger campsite. Big and open, with little shade. People who haven't paid for power occupy the powered sites (they just don't plug in) which meant that we had to circle for 20 minutes before we found space with a power outlet (and this was 11 am, not late afternoon!). The Park authority needs to sort this out.

We stayed in one of the bungalows on the perimeter, a much nicer setting than many of the interior bungalows arranged in circles even though there isn’t much of a view. We could hear lions at night, which was quite a treat – the camp is also well-situated for lion viewing nearby. As at other SAN Parks rest camps, the... More

We camped in Satara for 2 nights. The ablution facilities are clean and looked after. Stand is open and you stand where you get a place no marked stand. The change of the restaurant to a Mug and Bean and the Debonairs was the best move the Park could have done. The shop is well stocked and there are fresh... More

The camp is very strategicaly based almost in the middle of the park. We were travelling from north to the south, so we stayed there one night. Camp is very big and distance between restaurant and camping site can be too long for someone. Facilities were almost clean and staff helpful, again except of the restaurant, we sit there for... We spent two nights at the Satara rest camp and really enjoyed it. We had two rondavels right on the perimeter fence - which was a fantastic place to be! Hyena were right next to the fence at night, and elephants were there during the day! We did a morning bush walk which was one of the best experiences of... More

Standard Kruger Park camp operated by SANPARK. Rondavels are simple, but clean. Location in the middle part of Kruger park, next to a river (nice view). Braai/Barbecue facilities very good, there is a shop for fodder and drinks.
